A door that leads to dignity
-
Located in Sinsadong, this large building at the southern end of Hannamdaegyo Bridge is a landmark building in Sinsadong. Visible from Garosugil and other areas, this building incorporates patterns used in traditional Korean house window grids, evoking a large door while seamlessly blending the building into the city with familiar proportions.
-
One noteworthy aspect is the reinterpretation of traditional window grid patterns using modern architectural materials. While traditional window grids were made of wood and lattice, the exterior walls of Sinsa Square are made of stone and silver-toned glass. The stone used, Silver Cloud granite, has a subtle and restrained texture that resembles softly flowing silver clouds. The harmony between the stone patterns that shape nature and the modern material of glass serves as a mediator connecting tradition with the city.
-
While shaping the space as a door, it also emphasizes a luxurious lifestyle. Once you enter through that door, you can spend a day with dignity.
-
The building's interior consists of various spaces where one can enjoy activities ranging from F&B to cultural activities and even healthcare. Each space exudes luxury that aligns with the building's dignity.
-
Living a luxurious life is more than just that.
-
It's about beautiful days becoming dots in the everyday life, with those dots connecting to form a line and surface, creating a luxurious life. It's not about using it daily, but about enjoying a beautiful day occasionally and carrying it forward. If that's what you're looking for, then today's space fulfills that role perfectly.
-
Especially noteworthy is the central public space in the building that allows natural light to filter through by perforating the ceiling, demonstrating a harmonious element in architecture. The external landscape is open to everyone, providing city residents with a peaceful retreat from the bustling commercial areas of Garosugil and other streets.
-
Lastly, if we're talking about public spaces, culture cannot be left out.
-
The site where Sinsa Square sits was said to have been covered in large rocks from ancient times. The art center that was established on top of these rocks is called "Geoam." Geoam Art Hall consists of a performance hall and a gallery.
-
True to its name, the performance hall at Geoam Art Hall exudes a profound atmosphere, showcasing high-quality performances by acclaimed artists such as Jung Kyung-Hwa, Clara-Jumi Kang, and Baek Hyeseon. It not only provides audiences with moving experiences but also offers emerging artists the opportunity to perform on stage. Through this, Geoam Art Hall encompasses both veterans and newcomers, shaping a diverse future for art. The gallery will be overseen by the global cultural and art group Sotheby's Institute of Art and is set to exhibit a variety of art pieces.
-
Doesn't it fit perfectly? Opening the door to a day of dignity and enjoying a luxurious life on your terms.
-
That's the urban message this space conveys.
-
Finally, since this space won the "Good Light Award" in Seoul, it is an excellent space that minimizes light pollution in the city while gracefully illuminating Seoul's night environment with dignity, enhancing coexistence with the city. Looking at the building on the streets at night or at sunset, it might feel like viewing an Eastern painting, don't you think? Sinsa Square is not just a piece of art but also a landmark that can be enjoyed from anywhere in the city.
