From hotels and stays to cafes and cultural spaces, we have selected only the beautiful places that you should not miss in Jeju Island. A fast-evolving hotel

Among the most important tourist resources in a tourist city, if you had to choose the following except for the natural scenery, it would be accommodations. A place where people talk about where and how they spend their time and enjoy the nature. As such, lodging establishments in tourist attractions quickly read the trend of the times. This Haevichi Hotel is one of the places where I read such a trend. It is a bonus that the breakfast is exceptionally delicious.

Transformation of the lobby
-
The lobby of the hotel space becomes the first impression of the space experienced as soon as you enter. Because it shows the majesty of the hotel here, the better the tourist hotel built in the past, the more impressive the lobby space is. However, it is also observed that the lobby gradually becomes smaller and the area of the common space expands after that. This is a relatively recently built five-star hotel, and it is a space that clearly shows the aspect of change.
-
Hotel staff who meet at the drop off [place where you stop your car for a while and pick up your luggage] are still providing guidance. Typical service of traditional hotel space use. We carry your luggage to the lobby. This hotel is different from the traditional hotel space experience from here. small entrance. There, the G90 is on display so that you can test drive the Genesis. And if you walk a little down the low hallway, you will find the lobby. It looks a bit small for a 5-star hotel lobby, but there is a check-in area and a concierge where you can get simple assistance. It is a space composition that discards the typical of a very good hotel with low ceilings and less light. However, the service continues. Unlike the configuration of the space, the service continues the same, from where you can comfortably wait for check-in and to the story of leaving your luggage in front of the moving space. And after check-in, go to your room.
-
Elevators are made of glass. At this point, you can see that the hotel is trying to show something. If you go up in the elevator, you can see the 'Central Atrium' unfolding very hugely behind the elevator. This is not a lobby, but a guest room and a 'grand space'. Thanks to this, the rooms are flat [when the rooms are attached to only one side of the hallway. It's easy to think of the flat apartment type, a common apartment type in the past.] It can go around the central space. In the central space, various F&B spaces such as restaurants, cafes and pubs are gathered on the first floor along the border with a wonderful landscaping. And the middle is empty.
-
This is not an open courtyard, but an 'atrium' with a glass ceiling.
-
True to its name, the sun shines down to the floor and you can share the light until you enter the guest rooms on each floor. What's more, passing through the hallways and looking at the central space is also fun. Compared to the traditional hotel space, where most of the rooms and hallways are designed to be narrow and low to prevent light from entering, this space shares the magnificence of the lobby space as a common space and connects it with the experience up to the moment you enter the room. At the same time, in the central space on the first floor, when you look at people entering and leaving the rooms, you can somehow interact with the neighbors. Of course, it's so wide that I can't tell if they're looking at me, nor can I easily tell if they've seen me. You can tell that people are passing by, but the scene you see is familiar to us living in an apartment republic somewhere, so it creates a sense of intimacy.
-
Open the door of the accommodation you arrive at and enter. still good Unlike apartments, due to the characteristics of hotels, public and private spaces are completely cut off. Literally, one visit is Sam, the door that separates 'private' and 'public'. The door is especially very thick. A very thick door was installed to prevent sound from leaking into the hallway from the room. The moment I close the door, I can feel that the room is completely for me. Instead of a door that closes with a 'tock', a door that closes with a 'kwang' sounds like a bell that announces privacy visually through sound and sound.
-
The rooms are quite high-end. Although the entire space is made up of high-end, as the amount of lodging for one day is huge, the rooms show it the most. Dressing room, toilet, washbasin, and bathtub, the interior using high-quality materials and spaciousness that cannot be achieved in a hotel without a scale. Moreover, the size of the bed is also delicately composed of the decoration of the wall and the detailed storage parts. It's also luxurious. Finally, 3 out of 4 sides of the 'view', the most important factor in hotel room rates, have a view of the sea. The side view is taken from the room with the short hallway, and the front view from the room with the long hallway. The commercial logic of a classic hotel However, this space is a space that has lost many rooms as a result of the author carefully selecting more rooms with a poor space composition due to the impact of the public space.
-
Moreover, the staff movement [BOH:BACK OF HOUSE] is also lengthened. Thanks to this, a new experience and magnificent appreciation would have been completed, but it would not have been an easy choice for the owner of the hotel. However, it is clear that this hotel read the changes of the times and prepared the space with an eye on the value of what kind of new experience and appreciation it will give rather than just staying at the hotel.
-
There are other available spaces such as swimming pool, fitness center, game room, and billiards table. The outdoor swimming pool where you can swim right in front of the Jeju sea stands out.
-
This is the #Haevichi Hotel & Resort in Seogwipo, Jeju, a new experience created by the change of the lobby.

Old Hotel = Veteran Service

It's not like an old hotel is old and shabby. The building was designed by the world-famous architect Ricardo Legoretta. [Although there were some unsatisfactory things in the construction process, the story is kept relatively faithfully in the interior space intended by the architect] Moreover, the advantage of such an old hotel is that it has a very spacious room unlike those of today, and more importantly, it is a great place for veterans. It is a service. Quality service at a relatively low price, and the hotel's swimming pool, which cannot be missed in summer, is wonderful.

Editorial: Taeyang Village, Mexico-dong, Jeju-si - “I believe in architecture of warm sensibility rather than architecture of cold functional convenience. Modern architecture is losing its message and sensibility by focusing on technical problems. It is necessary to look back on the original role of the 'wall' to protect human beings, not to separate the functions of space.” This is what Louis Barragan, a former master of architecture, who won the Nobel Prize for Architecture, Pritzker Prize, said in an interview. The other day, I introduced #Discape space, and gave part of his architectural world. That's right. If a space that resonates with human experience and soul does not come out because of blindness to function, it is clear that human life in space will become increasingly difficult. The 'appreciation of space' that the 'experiencer' 'exists' and 'experiences' in the 'physical space' is the same existence as the red bean of bungeoppang, as the author claims. And today's space is related to his argument. - Ricardo Legoretta (1931-2011) He is a Mexican-born architect. His teacher 'Jose Viragran' was born in 1901 and is a contemporary of #Louis Barragan who was born in 1902 and a year apart. Both of them insisted on a space with regional characteristics of Mexico and an architecture with warm sensibility. As always, Viragran's pupil 'Ricardo' apparently agreed with his idea. Also, it is said that he was greatly influenced by 'Louis Kahn', the master of modern architecture, but it cannot be said that 'Riccardo' was not influenced by 'Barragan' at all. You can see some of the interviews that follow. “Architecture without emotion is not architecture. Of course, a space can be beautiful enough by itself, but if it does not inspire the human psyche, it is no longer architecture.” The architectural world he went out to is unmistakably original and unique. In that context, judging from the historical situations and contexts shown by the various writings, the author probably contains both the influences of the times and the influences of characters. and start the story. - This is a hotel and resort located in Jungmun, Seogwipo City, Jeju Island. What the hotel and resort programs have in common is that they are spaces for vacation and leisure. What kind of experience do we want on vacation? Other than the vague word 'rest', what are some of them in everyday sentences? - Such is the vacation the author pursues. 'I write in the morning with a nice coffee in the neighborhood, and read a book on the go. When you arrive at a nice hotel, you go from the lobby to every nook and cranny, examining the designer's intentions and how the functional parts of the building are composed, and talking about it. And you can't miss a meal at the hotel's nice restaurant with a great view. After eating, I want to read a book on the terrace of the room overlooking the sea. The setting sun meets the sea when my head aches while savoring the books I wanted to read. The golden sun, which is said to be the last greeting, hits the front of the building, creating a moment of laughter in the space. At sunset, enjoy a brief moment of ecstasy and soak up the water in the hotel bathtub. I take my weary body and take a cool walk towards my favorite part of the space I looked around in the afternoon. The golden sun has set, but the color and sensibility of the space resonates with the soul in a different form in the dim moonlight. Inspired by that moment, I go back to my room and write again with a blurry writing in my hazy mind.' It is the 'sequence (continuation of scenes)' of the vacation desired by the author. This experience is maximized in a fantastic space like today's space, where you fall into the scene, color, and sense of space intended for each part of the movement and complex movement lines like today's space, rather than the typical experience of a space that can be experienced anywhere. - Today's space accepts that sequence as it is. The huge space near the shore, the exotic sentiment created by the meeting of warm red-blue mass, hot yellow, and mysterious lavender, the spectacle of the scene created by various and complex moving lines, and finally, the sense of space created by the meeting of simple geometric languages is truly fantastic. close to And the regional characteristics of Jeju Island, which he saw, are filling the spatial landscape one after another. He expressed the universality and regional characteristics of the architecture he spoke of in his own language. The sun rises in Mexico. The intense color of the sun and the environment of Jeju Island are the perfect combination. - Today's space is Booyoung Hotel & Resort located in Jungmun, Jeju Island. Although the architect's work, 'Casa de Agua', which is the building for sale at this resort, has been torn down, his design still stands in this space. Of course, at the time of construction in 2013, the absurdity of changing the finishing material and color of some masses was different from the designer's opinion and design plan, but the stories of the planes and sections he drew still resonate with the souls of experienced people. - There is no vacation for the author. Calling a business trip a vacation is actually close to a spiritual victory to make business trips enjoyable, but in order to qualitatively sublimate the experiences of all spaces that you experience in your spare time, there must be many good spaces. There are many places in Jeju Island where you can enjoy such experiences in your spare time. However, it hurts my heart that such cases of deceiving the intentions of the designers and tricking the spatial experience are still prevalent. As an intellectual and public artist, I introduce the space in hopes that many people can enjoy a better experience at the same time through social accusations. - This is #Buyoung Hotel & Resort, Taeyang Village, Mexico-dong, Jeju City. - Location _ 222 Jungmungwangwang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province - Parking lot - Check-in 15:00 Check-out 12:00 - Hotel room cost around 150,000 to 200,000 [pool use fee included, breakfast not included] - Facilities _ Resort outdoor swimming pool 2, indoor Swimming pool and gym, kids cafe, restaurant, Korean restaurant, conference hall, resort, hotel, cu convenience store, promenade - PS. Stay with the moonlight shot

This is Seoho Lake, a quiet village in Seogwipo, Jeju. A space that has been around for nearly 100 years has been converted into a stay. When you enter the room, there are notices about the space prepared by the owner. If you read the history of the space contained in the sincere notes, you naturally become the owner of the space who knows the place well. Spending a day in the space of attachment. It is short, but after seeing this space under the moonlight in the night, it will be a memory that will remain forever.

Jeju Island 100-Year-Old Hanok The 100-year-old hanok in Jeju Island was built by the best carpenter at the time. Since then, it has been beautifully decorated to provide an experience suitable for the present in the modern era with several artists. Transforming a residential space into a lodging facility would be a great opportunity to fully enjoy the skills of a veteran. A day in a hanok under the quiet Jeju moonlight becomes a short trip from the busy modern era to the past. - Welcoming the Moonlight, Seogwipo Seoho Moonlight - It is said that in 1920, the best carpenter, Mr. Oh, was called to build the best house. Seoho Village in Jeju Island. It really is a village. There are no convenient things around. There is only one small convenience store, and there are only villagers' houses around. Thanks to this, it has a quiet village atmosphere. This house, which had been around for nearly 100 years, was remodeled while maintaining its old taste as much as possible. Delicately and beautifully made in line with modern residential functions. - When a day traveler arrived here with luggage like a house, the owner of the house was tending the garden. After telling him only how to open the door and how to fill the outdoor spa with warm water, he suddenly left. When you open the door, you can see the structure of an old hanok. A poem welcoming guests is written on top of the lower floor. A quiet, well-lit space. And take a look around the space. Check out our private outdoor spa. On a good day, I thought, 'At that moment when the sun goes down slowly, you'll see the water in the bathtub change the sky blue'. And look around the bedroom and the loess jjimjilbang. This is the most anticipated place on my Jeju trip. I liked this room very much because I, who like jjimjilbangs, have never been able to go to a jjimjilbang while the corona is on the rise, so regardless of the day, my desire for a jjimjilbang soars. Although electric blankets are available now, won't it be possible to use them someday when they come back? It may be because of the fact that there is a furnace. Anyway, I climbed up one step from the tungmaru and looked at the living room and the jjimjilbang and looked at the bedrooms. There are a lot of bedrooms here, considering it is based on 6 people. It is so spacious and ready to use. - And the old wooden floor and pillars give you a very different feeling from the modern hotels we usually experience. Long ago, my grandmother's house was a tiled house. Even there, these pillars were hardly visible. But here it is. It gives a different experience while retaining the similar old scent. It's fun. And the old-looking radio plays the prepared music. Turning on a radio in this spacious house brings about a friendly and friendly atmosphere. - Then, I lay my tired body on the bed in the master bedroom. - I fell asleep. The sun has already gone down. - I tried to enjoy the room in a hurry, but I leisurely enjoyed the room. 'Well, this is good! Isn't travel like this?' Then go out to the garden of this house where the sun has set and feel the fresh air. Magnolias are in full bloom and rape flowers are swaying in the breeze. good. Someday, I'll have to build a house with a garden like this. The garden, which had been cherished without reason because it had never been used, has now become a small goal. - The sun goes down slowly. I'll have to go get something to eat. After getting information that there is a market nearby, he hurriedly leaves. I came to the end of the market while I was obsessed with goods made with Jeju tangerines. A sushi restaurant located at the end of the market. Today, at the boss's recommendation that the dome is delicious, I ask you to pack it without hesitation. A plate of sashimi in one hand and a bag of Cheon Hye-hyang in the other. It looks like it will be a satisfying evening. Take a bottle of Mt. Halla from near the dorm and go to Seoho Village. - The sun has gone down. When you arrive, you can see the true scenery of this house. The stars and the moon are clear in the clear night sky of Jeju. It is very impressive to see him smiling brightly with the garden in a small house under the moonlight. - Mt. Halla is going to be sweet today! - This is Seoho Dalbit, a private pension in Seogwipo, Jeju, a space that welcomes the moonlight of Seoho Village.

Want a quiet vacation?

Then I recommend this place. The expansive garden and walking course behind the hotel are better than anywhere else. Moreover, with a solid service network and suitable and comfortable rooms, it is the perfect place to relax. There is a cafe famous for the promenade and a book cafe presumed to be the work of Kim Jung-up. The experience of taking a leisurely day, taking a walk, reading a book, and bathing in the sea breeze in your room. Just thinking about it makes me feel disconnected from real life. Moreover, the swimming pool is also open during peak season, so be sure to check it out.

Seogwipo-si, Hawaii[similar]: holiday resort
-
I've never been to Hawaii. It is a place full of trees with long hair, and you can only know it by seeing and hearing that it is an island that is the cornerstone of honeymooners. I always draw places I haven't been to with my imagination through knowledge. At the same time, these days, you can get a rough overview of the world through Google. It is very similar to the image you see. It is like the fact that the green grass, palm trees, and the cool sea face each other. Although this hotel has been built for quite some time, there is no regret compared to other hotels. Rather, as a hotel built a long time ago, the size, convenience, and robustness of the rooms are better than those of today. Finally, the strength of old hotels is that the flow of services is very smooth. Veterans are in charge of it, so you can trust it. However, if there is a difference from these days, there is a very elegant walking course. In general, it is different from these days, which try to enrich the experience in the space adjacent to the hotel or inside. It is definitely a space where natural elements can be used well in a traditional way.
-
The promenade here is attached to the back of the hotel building and is filled with expansive lawns and lush palm trees. Of course, with the Korean octagonal garden and Sujeongwon together, it is a bit far from the Hawaiian sentiment, but somehow it is not awkward. It does not end there, but this trail is also connected to the Jeju Olle Trail, where the experience of walking is further expanded. I want to tell you that it is a really good walking course that even the author can enjoy the quiet impression twice at night and in the morning. At night, I turned on my cell phone's flashlight and enjoyed the rough course, but thanks to that, I also had a dreamy experience of the promenade focused on the sound of the waves and the moon illuminating the lake garden. Also, in the morning, after having breakfast, he quietly came down and walked without thinking, carrying his back. In the middle of the night, he wandered around the garden that he couldn't go because it looked rough, and he enjoyed the flower trees and new paths that didn't look dark. A tennis court and an arboretum were also discovered that morning.
-
Finally, this space serves as a lounge in the huge space of the lobby. It is a space layout that makes good use of the hilly terrain of the sea that can be seen right through the window. If you go down the circular stairs below it, you will find a restaurant where you can have breakfast. Again, a variety of food is provided. It is a place where you can see the swimming pool, palm trees and the sea of Jeju Island well from the window seat, which is well-organized with menus that are not lacking in Korean and Western dishes.
-
The room is the point. Here, the floor shape in the form of a breakwater is built up as it is. It is easy to understand the overall shape if you think of 'Pizza Saver', which fixes the pizza so that it does not stick. As such, if one leg faces the sea, many of the other parts can look at the sea together. It's also a way to offer more ocean views. And the sea seen from the room is not the glass railing, but the sea seen through the white wall. Rather, it doesn't seem like it these days, so the impression was pleasant and enjoyable. I felt like I had become a person living in a particularly nice villa, and I felt a little bit better. With a large area, high floor height, sunlight, and a cool sea breeze, I thought it would be a great place to spend a day at the hotel leisurely.
-
As you can see the exotic scenery outside, this space is also a place to make full use of the large garden in the back.

Want a quiet vacation? 2

It is a space that we want to connect with KAL Hotel. The reason why the space resembles Sora will be understood when you visit the space. Looking down at the sea, I read a book I hold dearly with the sound of waves in the background. A place where I don't have to pay and no one interferes with my reading.

Sora's Castle
-
It's an experience I've had once at sea with my parents when I was a kid. If you hold a conch shell to your ear, you can hear the sound of the waves. When I was young, with a pure heart, I only thought that the conch was a door connected to the sea. It was so strange to hear the sound of the waves even when I came home holding the fern in my hand.
-
The space on the coastal cliffs of Jeju resembles the shell of a conch.
-
It has a round shape, and it looks just like a conch when you see the rough stones embedded in the wall when you look at it from the outside. What's even more interesting is that the way you go up to enjoy this space is also similar to the shape of Sora. Was it the 6th course of Olle Trail? It is a space that can be faced in the middle of a short walk. Starting from the parking lot and walking slowly along the promenade, you will see an exotic space with palm trees. Perhaps because it is Jeju, the plants planted around the building are also different from those in the above regions. Among the lush vegetation growing in warm areas, a space that looks like a castle or a conch, arouses curiosity at once.
-
The entrance to this space is on the left side of the front shown in the photo. A slightly rounded entrance. And when you enter, you can see the cylinder that you saw from the outside. This is a 'book cafe' for Jeju residents. It is also free as it is run by the public. However, on the first floor, there are no stairs going up. I couldn't find it, so I asked the manager. It tells you that you have to go out to the back garden and go back up. Usually, it is usually connected from the inside of the first and second floors of a building, but this space is not. You can go up to the second floor only after seeing the beautiful sea in the back garden. The stairs are also unique. Stairs going up and back along the shape of the building. At this point, it really looks like a conch shell that rolls up and gets smaller.
-
The fact that conch shells are attached to the building as a decoration enhances the impression even more. The concept of the space is also expressed through visual decoration. It's fun. It allows us to experience the local characteristics as a space, as a building, as a decoration, and as a movement of the space.
-
On this floor that has been turned up, you can see that the front window in front completely contains the sea. Books are placed on the left and right of the sea side. But I came with a book in my hand, so I rush to see the wonderful sea up close.
-
One foot two steps closer to the sea, surprisingly, you hear the sound of the waves. It is the sound of waves crashing against the cliff under the window. At the sound of the waves that sounded like 'Choo~Ha', I unwittingly pulled out a chair and hugged it, and let out a sigh. This feeling of rejuvenation.
-
I quickly take out the book and get sucked into the scene of the novel with the sound of the waves in the background.
-
The space is the conch itself. The shape, movement, decoration, and sound of Sora were taken out and embedded. Then he nodded at the sign that said 'Sora's Castle' on the signboard at the entrance.

space and nature

Jeju is beautiful in nature. There is a place where the characteristics of it meet like a short story in one space. As the main character, my footsteps will become a knock on the entrance as a part.

How to enjoy Jeju: climb and climb
-
The sea in the front, the rape field in the back: a small oreum in between
-
The natural environment of Jeju Island appears repeatedly in the author's story, but in summary, it is 'beautiful'. There are many ways to express beautiful things, but I have to stop at 'beautiful' due to my lack of ability. The end of 'Investigation', that is, 'Tuning', is an island where the joke of 'pure' comes to mind.
-
There are many ways to enjoy such nature. There are ways to enjoy nature as it is, ways to enjoy nature from a distance seen from a vehicle, and ways to enjoy nature organically with space. This space corresponds to the third method.
-
When you follow the coastal road in Seogwipo, you can see a chunk of pure concrete, a small rocky mountain in nature, and a miniature version of the Oreum seen in Jeju. Even from the exterior, this space shows a will to not disturb nature rather than trying to stand out on its own. A clean, unadorned, honest block of concrete. And if there is a scene that spoils the appreciation of the interior a little, it is the elevation in the shape of a side stair [elevation: a drawing viewed from the front of the building, usually four sides are drawn because it is a rectangular building].
-
On the north side of the space, so toward the road in front, the blue sea of Jeju ripples. On the south side, rapeseed flowers filled with sunlight lift their heads wide and flutter. It has all the natural features of spring Jeju. The boulders in between simply suggest how to enjoy the nature one by one to those who have entered the interior. You can see it when you go up and down.
-
From the north side entrance, go up slowly through the slope. The first space entered as such shows the advantages of this building at once. The cool sea on the left and beautiful flower fields on the right. The space we climbed into seems to ask what kind of nature we would like to enjoy. After ordering at the center station, the experienced person has to make a choice. Prior to that, this space continues to tell us that you can enjoy the nature around this space in a different way through the continuous upward movement. If you go up half a floor, you will find a space surrounded by brick tiles on the back side. On the right side, on the left side of the sea, you can see a little rapeseed flower. You can see the bakery room from the small space that went up half a floor. The route is fun. Rather than using one floor honestly, it is as if you are climbing a mountain, and the height of the climb from the middle of the mountain to another is cut off in the middle, and it is like seeing a sculpture of the oreum. And when you get to the second floor, you can overlook the sea. Since this is the highest point in the space, this time, we also suggest a way to enjoy the sky. What only Jeju has: What only I have
-
It has more tourism resources than any other city in Korea. Jeju Island, a beautiful island that has become a brand on its own. There are special scenes that only this place has. Among the natural features, canola flowers, citrus orchards, the blue and expansive sea full of Jeju colors, and the diverse vegetation found in Oreum and mountainous areas are representative of its natural features. In fact, it is a place that has not only this but also urban and spatial characteristics. Jeju, a volcanic island made of basalt, has a history of forming a village by sharing a place to pump a well in the middle of the village because it is a land where water drains. Due to the nature of the island, where the wind blows a lot in four seasons, the height of the building is low and flat to be favorable to the wind load. There, the stone wall is not the blocked stone wall seen in the inland area, but a stone wall with holes in it. This is also a method devised so that it does not collapse in the wind. Finally, the spatial characteristic through social promise is the entrance. It is also possible to judge whether or not there are people in this space between neighbors by hanging three rods and hanging them. All of them are unique to Jeju Island.
-
Today's space is a space that preserves many of the characteristics of Jeju.
-
You can see the entrance to a quiet village for about 10 minutes on the road from Jeju Airport. A rural village full of low houses. From there, you can see the old Jeju space closest to the sea. There are holes in the walls of typical Jeju. It is a beautiful scene in which rape flowers are in full bloom along the stream flowing sideways, and the front and back of the space are also dyed yellow in the hot springs. If you turn around at the entrance of the space, you can see the cool sea right in front of you. When you enter the entrance with your back pushed by the refreshing sea breeze from there, the experience of this space begins.
-
Inside the space, you can see that the shape and structure of the old house are utilized as much as possible. In line with the assortment of cafes these days, only the functionally necessary parts are reinforced and the station is surrounded by iron. In the past, when this space was created, iron, a material that could not be easily used, was understood to clarify the distinction between the past and the present. The scene where the old wooden structure and iron work together is quite sophisticated.
-
Coffee is 'Coffee Nap Roasters', a famous coffee shop in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul. As always, a brand that prepares delicious coffee. Order coffee with faith and now head to the court yard (think of it as a courtyard in the center of the space surrounding it). A building is facing the back of the station building. They face each other with a fairly large yard in between. In the spacious courtyard, a mirror and a table that reflects the sky were put in. Looking at the sea from the end of the courtyard, it is easy to see that the space is empty enough to contain the sky.
-
The back space is made of basalt on one wall. Again, the old wooden structure is maintained, and the tables are spaced out with Jung-gu heating to continue the appreciation of the quiet Jeju village. The sea breeze that comes over the wall weakens one by one and blows softly. Enjoying the wind in the courtyard creates a pleasant air along with the sunlight.
-
On one side of the yard, you can see a huge tree. When the author stopped by the space, he couldn't tell what kind of tree it was because the leaves had not yet been seen, but he could tell that it had been planted in a good spot for a long time, hoping that it would be a flowering tree.
-
'Sea, wind, perforated wall, basalt rock, and rape blossoms' harmonize well with the old house. Modern appreciation shows the traces of efforts to harmoniously fit together without interfering with existing things as much as possible. It is a very smart way to take advantage of what you already have and to capture the sophistication of a space with regional characteristics.
-
Isn't it our life too? It's good to make up for your shortcomings, but isn't it a way of cultivating who you are by making sure that you keep your natural, good, and talented parts alive?
-
Just as today's space created beauty by understanding and nurturing things unique to Jeju, how about trying to become a beautiful person by honing and cultivating what we each have?

Are space and nature separate?

We destroy nature to enjoy it. If there is no other place, this is probably the closest. A naturalistic garden close to nature drawn by a famous domestic landscape architect. I hope you enjoy not only this cafe, but also the park surrounding the space. It will be a fun experience to learn the meaning of piles of stones.

Nature's House: Becke
-
If we were to build a house for humans, of course we would try to reflect the taste of the person living there. What I always insist on is that the space is 'for the writer [life]' is today's topic. As we often discuss, zoos are like, 'Isn't it built for animals?' That being said, if you think about it carefully, zoos are designed to 'enjoy humans to see animals', not for animals to live in. So, the people who use the zoo are 'humans'. The same goes for the 'Aquarium'. There is a trend of the times that the world gradually recognizes him and moves, but how it will end is still unknown. However, we always need a more coexistent world, a spatial alternative that can coexist with life.
-
One of them is probably today's space. It is an evolved version of the 'Naturalist Garden' ecological garden, and although it is true that plants are artificially touched, it is said that there is a difference in gardening considering the environment of plants first. So, this is a house full of taste for plants. It composes the vegetation and environment in which plants can grow well, and puts people's paths behind it. As a result, the time the water comes out of the sprinkler is just right on the human road. Seeing that we have to be careful when the water comes out, we can easily guess that the plants come before us.
-
The house of such plants is the model, and after that is this small space like a pile of stones.
-
Small piles of stones as aggregate in black concrete. The stones can be seen through cracks in the concrete. From a distance, they look just like stones, but when viewed up close, they look like piles of stones. Moreover, the color of basalt, which is abundant in Jeju Island, was reflected in the concrete. The dark black concrete looks just like a wall from the outside of the cafe [Photo 3]. If you draw as if there is nothing and then pass through the walls, you will find a space you have only seen before, and this space is for humans. It is a human space that can only be watched so that the plants do not get harmed. And if you sit on the floor half as low as eye level with them, the coffee table and the garden floor are on the same line. The appreciation of looking up at them or the appreciation of being in the same position and looking at nature is unique. Most of this space is mainly a garden, which is much larger than this cafe. And the cafe space really only protects the minimum area. A beautiful and well-decorated house in nature is not an easy sight to see anywhere. It is literally like being given a picture-like scene.
-
It cannot be said that a person has not been touched at all. So, I sometimes approached the beauty close to the masterpiece that nature creates. 'Like a pile of stones from the days of farming with a plow, it has an artificial grain, but it still feels close to nature' [sentence meaning Becker (Jeju language)]. is well followed by the name's story as a representation and a form of space and for that purpose. And it is also a space where everyone is looking forward to 'spring summer autumn winter'.

a way to show nature

Unlike other spaces, this place has a very complicated way of showing nature. The view of the garden you get as a reward is very romantic. The experience of turning around in a dark space and meeting the light in the garden became an experience I will never forget.

black box with cherry blossoms
-
Space changes its face with time. In the short term, depending on the direction of the sunlight during the day, and at the longest depending on the weather, it changes its appearance in various ways depending on the season. The same is true for areas of change. From one small building to a large one across the country, the space changes its face. Spring and fall are people's favorite time of the season to change their faces and show off their beauty. Since it is relatively shorter than summer and winter, people pour into the space to enjoy the time.
-
However, these cherry blossoms seen in full bloom are good to enjoy on the road, but I prefer to go to a specific place to enjoy them. It is a person's desire to see the most beautiful cherry blossoms, and also an effort to leave an impressive time with the person they are with. On the radio I heard in a taxi in Jeju Island, I heard a story about a couple who went to see cherry blossoms. 'There are cherry blossoms all over the world, so why do you have to come to a place with so many people to see it?!' It was a line from a man that is really rare these days. Seeing these stories streamed on the radio, I could tell by hearing that it was a time to enjoy cherry blossoms a lot.
-
Gakseol, today's space is a place that silently hides the scene like a treasure to capture the appearance of that short space. When you arrive at the parking lot, you can see cherry blossoms little by little above the head of the wall, which is about the height of a person. So it makes you look forward to the moment you go to see it in its entirety. And from the entrance, the flower tree is no longer visible. black building. It rises upright like a wall that protects something bluntly or heavily, and stands threateningly. The entrance is large enough to make a person look small. And when you enter, there is only a low, black entrance surrounded by black walls on all sides. The glass could have been made transparent, but it is a glass door coated in black so as not to interfere with the continuous flow of the scene. Inside, there is a place that sells tickets just like the ticket office you meet before entering the amusement park. 'Table' is bread and coffee.
-
Order and enter the space again like a maze. It is a clear gesture of intent to keep something. Even in the final hallway facing you, you can only see the light coming over your head, but the concrete wall hides many scenes. At this point, I was curious and was going crazy, so I ran away.
-
In the scene facing the wall, a beautiful garden is hidden. The seats are all configured in such a way that you enjoy the garden. All of the indoor seating areas where you can enjoy the garden regardless of the weather face the garden, and the outside seating where you can fully enjoy the garden are placed throughout the trees.
-
The final scene the black box was about to show is prepared for this spring. Of course, in other seasons, this garden will capture the appearance of each season, but since the trees that have already been planted are cherry trees, wouldn't spring be the best? The sentiment, glimpsed from outside the parking lot, comes to a heightened state through the complicated movement. A moving scene and the warmth of a spring day. The horizontal feeling of space is maintained, and the static feeling of space makes you enjoy spring calmly.
-
Lastly, the black box serves as a background that both holds the cherry blossoms and makes them stand out.

The reason for the space to come back

have to go back to the starting point. Space to protect humans. This sentence is an immortal sentence. In the space, people should not be endangered or feel uncomfortable from the environment. A lot of things have to be done to satisfy that. And this is a place that strictly observes it and takes it to an aesthetic point of view. A place you must visit once.

*Origin of space to be revisited - There are many ways to bring the sea into space. In the case of a relatively calm sea, a building is placed on the sea to look down, or a special view of the sea from the sea is added. It takes difficult technology, but how to build a building in the sea to get a view under the water. And, like Busan's 'L City', you can build a skyscraper right in front of the beach and enjoy the view of the sea from a very high place. Finally, it is a method of entering the space in front of you at eye level with the horizon of the sea. The space in front of the sea can be read as a single or mixed type of the four basic types mentioned. Of course, the experience and appreciation each has differs depending on the type and the sea. After all, space is interpreted by the subject, so the memories that remain will be different. Ultimately, it comes down to preference. - I like the last type, looking at the horizon. I like the feeling of being on a boat, but I especially like to drive the calm sea in a static and horizontal space like today's space. The waves are hidden from view, but looking at the calm horizon seems to clear up your dizzy and confused heart. Wanting to convey that kind of sentiment well, this space uses a variety of architectural and technical devices. - Does this space have an environment as an architecture? From the brand and marketing point of view, 'Can't have it?' can determine 'Is it a space that can induce re-visit?', and spatially it is directly related to the continuity of the space. On average, when planning a space, most 'space artists' make efforts for the spatial environment. How should the window be positioned to circulate air inside and outside the space for a 'light environment' that considers where and how much natural light is brought in? For 'ventilation plan', depending on the location of the space, how much insulation performance can be obtained and the temperature inside the space can be maintained well? How long will it withstand the temperature controlled by the equipment? Such as 'plan to deal with space temperature', what kind of floor will you do according to the purpose of the space? How much will the noise in the room be? Accordingly, materials are selected and the space is planned by comprehensively considering many situations such as the 'sound environment' that considers the finish and the architectural environment. - Among them, in the case of commercial spaces such as cafes, the environment cares less about the spatial environment than the residential environment, but today's space is not like that. It is composed close to perfection, and it is undoubtedly a masterpiece in design. When such an environment is basically captured, the intention of the space artist in the space can be fully revealed without any inconvenience. - As such, you can enjoy the sea comfortably in this space. Column finish to catch the noise generated by crowds in a large space, and wooden ceiling finish to absorb sound. In order to take in the sea that lies in front of the space as wide and wide as possible, it is a method of capturing insulation and view at the same time using high-quality products with thin window frames. In order to focus only on the scene coming in at the end, natural light coming in other than the front is introduced only through the narrow ceiling. The ceiling, which extends from the front entrance to the end of the floor line of the outdoor space, allows natural reflected light to enter without direct light. As it is a large space, many facilities need to be put in, but it is hidden inside the ceiling so that when viewed from the front of the building, you can honestly see the sea without anything hanging from the ceiling. The space artist had a scene he wanted to show, and it is an example of an excellent design and engineering solution for that scene. - There is no doubt that a huge amount of capital is required for this. Looking back on reality, it is not uncommon for the client to make a big decision to create the best environment without sparing money. It is knowing that the brand experience that takes place in the prepared space can be approached with a premium only when accompanied by this. - If you look at an example from an everyday story, you must have had this kind of experience. 'I went there and it was so noisy that I couldn't go twice.', 'I sat by the window and the cold wind was blowing so it was very cold', 'It was a day when the light fell into the snow and came in so strongly, the air conditioner was cold, my body was hot, and my head hurt. There will be many experiences and so on. These are phenomena that arise from not capturing the environment in space. - After experiencing these experiences at most once or twice, the intention to revisit the space disappears. No matter how good the photos taken in that space are, we can't say 'Let's go back'. - This is directly related to brand loyalty, and in reality, it is also directly related to sales in commercial spaces. In the meantime, it is good news as a space artist to have such a wonderful space. When good precedents lead to better results over time, the attitudes of those who prepare the space will change. And I think that the standard of space for those who have experienced it is definitely higher. - However, it is difficult to examine the environment of this space closely unless you are a person who specializes in space like the author. As a tip, I want to tell you that it is a space that sufficiently considers the environment if 'the memory of that day was beautifully remembered without any uncomfortable memories in the space'. The built environment is the part that touches human biological instincts. So, if there is no particular inconvenience, I want you to know that I have set the environment well. - So, in conclusion, today's space is a space where you want to go back and see the sea. - This is a space filled with sincerity Jeju Island #Jinjeongseong last point - Location _ 124 Seohaean-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do - Business hours _ 09~21 - Parking lot - Attached is the menu. - PS. small space filled with sunlight

The window at the back of the space is full of tangerine trees. A space filled with light. Although it is a small space, it is meticulously composed with a cute, Jeju-like feeling. The simple brunch made with local specialties is comparable to the brunch at any fancy restaurant. No, it is rather particularly beautiful.

like the sunlight
-
An old house for anyone to see. However, it has a gloomy look. well organized The appearance of the interior seen through the window is cute and bright. And at the same time, there is the taste of raw food. There was a waiting line, so we had to wait for a long time, but even before entering the space, we could get a glimpse of the owner's senses and tastes. Still, the waiting time is not boring. Sit on the falling camellia wall, put down your heavy luggage for a while, and spend time with nothing. do nothing Sit back in the shade of camellia and gaze at the surrounding vegetation without thinking. The sunlight was warm and surrounded by trees I had never seen before, and I just enjoyed the moment.
-
'Cheein-'
-
A letter comes. Now I think I can finally go in. When I lifted my heavy luggage, he kindly told me that it looks heavy, so I can leave it on the other side. Thank you for your consideration and guide us to your seat. I hang up my coat, take a deep breath, and look at the menu. There are several. However, all of them are Jeju-like and can be understood by reading a few words that are made of plants. 'Onion jam? Tomato jam?' It is the name of the first jam you see. What is it? Out of curiosity, I order a toast plate with it. When I arrived on Jeju Island, I had not eaten tangerine-based food and beverages, so I ordered 'tangerine milk' to make me feel like I was traveling.
-
Now let's take a look at the space. Each seat has a window. It is an excellent choice. And beyond that window, the symbol of Jeju Island is well hung on the window to the extent that anyone can see it as Jeju Island. A stone wall of Jeju Island hangs from the citrus seedlings behind the building and the entrance window. White painted wooden space. As the paint peels off, it meets the concrete, and the appropriate sentiment is splendid. Aging, not the realm of humans. It must be the owner's unremitting efforts to keep the space neat and tidy by taking advantage of its taste. It looks shabby, but if you look closely, everything is neatly organized. I thought it would be more correct to express it as sensual rather than shabby.
-
You can see all the space inside with 5 steps. However, compared to the number of steps, the viewing time was absurdly long. I like the impression of that place, so I wanted to take a look at it slowly.
-
Then the menu came out. Apply the onion jam you are curious about once and take a bite. 'Oh, sweet and savory' were the words that came out of my mouth. And tomato jam has a stronger flavor than onion jam. Then, apply citrus jam as well and take a bite. Treat your mouth with the citrus milk you've been curious about. 'Soft and sweet' is the first taste everyone has tasted. Compared to the ready-made products, it is light and moderate, and the sweetness that is not burdensome is my taste. If you read the menu slowly, you can see that the cuisine here takes a lot of care as much as the space.
-
It contains Jeju. And it is not a concentration that can be easily found anywhere. Well prepared space. The waiting remains beautiful, but there is no boredom in the memory. When the time comes, the owners must have been nurtured like the sunlight that shines everywhere.

reading poetry. The story told by those few short sentences is the size of the world. As such, each person's feelings are different. The same is true for the space. The sequence of all the scenes that this space shows will be taken differently by each person. The impressive parts will all be different. I will become a poem, - Jeju Island is an island with beautiful natural scenery. It is an island that is loved by Koreans as it is a natural landscape that is hard to see in Korea other than Jeju. Not to mention overseas. If I had to pick one reason I came here, it was because the experience here was beautiful. I can gain a sense of writing through this experience. Today's space became one of the inspirations for this Jeju series of stories. - A space located on the beach road in the northeast of Jeju Island. After running for 30 minutes from the dormitory, I got off the taxi that was running with that peace and I saw an abandoned building. Contrary to the shape of the building's head, the surrounding area is well decorated with beautiful landscapes. What caught my interest in this space before coming here was how it looked like the first photo of the day. Therefore, I did not know that this space was connected to several buildings and contained a story. And that ignorance is the reason why I wandered for a while not knowing where to enter the building after arriving here. - Fortunately, if you look carefully, the concrete on the gravel will give you directions in which to go. As I entered the road, I was able to reach the cafe station safely. The first thing we did was look at the bread. I was hungry because I had not been able to eat well and had traveled a long distance. Here you can see the menu with Jeju's specialties. I ordered a coffee with a croissant with Udo peanuts and some bread. - And go down to the basement. All spaces are made of concrete, but only this staircase is finished with wood to make it stand out. As you go down the stairs, you can see the sea that you couldn't have imagined from above in the front window. The land above the sea rocks was also well trimmed to prepare a Jeju-like landscaping. Seeing that people were sitting with their bodies turned toward the sea, I could tell that they had the same mind as me. We also unload our luggage on the quiet side and wait for bread and coffee. I was hungry. As soon as the vibrating bell rang, it went up quickly. And eat bread in a hurry. Post-meal view of Mt. Geumgang. I agree. When the boat is full, you can see the sea garden decorated here. When you come out to look around, the scent of life that has not been transmitted through the glass comes over in the sea breeze. The fresh and refreshing scent of the sea. As I walked along the road, I arrived at the entrance of the abandoned factory seen from above. This is a gallery. - Go back to the entrance of that abandoned space again. The entrance hinted that this place was well prepared. The entrance is a two-way sliding door made of new iron. I heard the sound effect of 'Chwiiik' in my ears at the magnificent opening. As soon as the door opens, the focused vanishing point takes away my vision. And look at the white light in the distance. I thought of that light as a ceiling light. 'Did you try to express the infinite world?' A brief thought passes. As you walk along the prepared road, you can see the sea outside on the right side of the abandoned building. And see the group dances made by mechanical arms in the space. They are enjoying this place by adapting themselves to the space of unknown use. And I can't figure out the end of the dead-end staircase, but somehow I think I'll see something, so I go up. I see an amazing scene. About halfway up, I realized that this was just a large window, not a ceiling-like light. Instead of the abstract infinite world I had envisioned, it contained a visually endless sea. - Unexpectedly moved by the twist, I sit on the stairs and adapt myself to this space and enjoy it. - Now, you go down the stairs that look a little tough, unlike this interior space. The lower part of the building is rougher. It is as alien as the appearance of other devastated planets. However, he also walks down the curved road following the guidance of the material. Another abandoned building this time. When you open the door and enter, there is a fog on the ceiling. And in the center, something that flashes and emits a mystical atmosphere is settling down in the middle of the space as if a spaceship had landed. Take a few steps Now you have come close to the suspicious object. The inside looks cloudy. You can also see the brightly changing light. And when he returns, the other side of the mysterious object is revealed. - The first breath that came out after seeing the whole 'Who' exhibition. It contains tension. - Strangely, it is a minimal device that is not easy to understand, and the appreciation of the experience is left to me. This space is like poetry. At the very least, give a frame of thought in writing, but leave the conclusion to the reader. A few words placed in the middle of the white paper, and the blank space resembles this space. - So this space became poetry to me. - Parking available - A menu is attached. - PS. I can't stand cute things

Very cute. The way the space is operated is also cute. People line up in front of the space for that little pudding. And the change in facial expression before entering and after leaving is a cartoon-like scene. The expressions on the faces of those who buy a box of the precious puddings they want and come out are those who have everything in the world. Such a painful experience while traveling is sometimes a memory. And it will remain cute.

cute and delicious,
-
Jeju Island is an island with many unique and cute things. Even if you go to the market, you can see cute hats and goods made from tangerines. Although small and simple here and there, the spaces filled with the owner's taste are full of small and cute things according to the owner's taste. Just looking at it makes my heart flutter, as if I was given a shellfish I liked on the beach.
-
One of those cute things while traveling. If there's one thing I've been curious about, it's a pudding shop with little but very cute characters. The name is 'Um'. In conclusion, it was a really cute pudding restaurant that was seriously delicious.
-
It was our last day in Jeju. I enjoyed the sea to enjoy, so I wanted to explore the city a little bit. Walk slowly from your accommodation near the airport. I remembered the particularly cute looking pale yellow building, but I moved to that place. A building of about 3 or 4 floors. Actually, I didn't know, but I just wanted to go because it was so cute. And I was curious about the space. After about a minute on foot, passing the 'Gwanghae-gun Exile', I was able to arrive at the space immediately. A cute looking building on the other side of the five-way driveway. Even though it is on the third floor, people like the author, fascinated by its cuteness, line up in front of the door. I think it's cuter because the grown-ups somehow do it.
-
It turned out that they only do takeout, so they line up and bring out the pudding they want. I too have no choice but to wait in line and wait.
-
It's really fun. Regardless of you, when you open the door, you come out with a big smile and take a photo of yourself in front of a small shutter next to the door. Everyone is doing it as if they had made a promise. 'Why?' As we waited in line, our curiosity continued to grow.
-
'Finally it's my turn'
-
It's the moment you've been waiting for In line, I wanted to taste all kinds as much as the line, so I said 'Give me everything' with greetings. And the answer of the staff, dressed in calm and cute clothes to match the space, was, 'I have to eat it all in 30 minutes at room temperature, are you okay?' There were 4 types of puddings I saw in the showcase, and I couldn't eat all 4 puddings in 30 minutes, since I don't like sweets very much. Even if two people share it, it seems a little difficult. He bent his will at the beginning and ordered only three. What we chose was 'Castella, Udo Peanut, and Chocolate'. The space finally catches my eye while packing. All white and small things give a point and make a small space feel perfect. Goods containing 'amu' are also available. In the end, I bought one of those goods as well. Travel changes people's attitudes in this way. Here in Seoul, things that we couldn't even look at can easily open our hearts as if they were special and special.
-
I went out after a satisfying shopping. The smiles of those who opened the door probably meant the same thing to me, right? I also contemplate whether I should stand in the shutter and take pictures with them. It was a bit embarrassing for the huge me to take a picture here. So I just drop the package down in front of the door and take a picture. Anyway, I hurriedly moved to my seat with the feeling of being proud that I had done everything I could here and thinking that I should eat pudding quickly.
-
Fluffy puddings. Put a spoonful in your mouth with a small spoon. The taste is not cute. It was seriously delicious. The experience in this space will be remembered like this. 'It's seriously delicious.'
-
All in all, the use of this space is really fun. The first floor is an order-only station, and the second and third floors are offices and kitchens. The general public cannot use it. Waiting in line is only available for take-out, and you have to inhale the pudding within 30 minutes of coming out. I thought it was a fun experience. If you like this taste, you will come to Jeju next time.

Architect Dongryong Dong, who is still known as a Japanese by many. My pen name is Jun Itami. It is a very Japanese name, but 'Itami' is the name of the airport you often hear. 'Jun' is a close friend's last name if you change it to 'Jun'. Aren't you curious about the harmony of the space he drew?

Can the ark survive natural disasters? - '*Noah built a boat according to God's command, and loaded his family and seven clean male and female animals, one male and female unclean animal, and seven male and female birds to escape the flood. [*Genesis Quotation]' This is a famous story. This is a story that both Christians and non-Christians have heard of. The story of Noah's Ark, a great flood to punish fallen mankind, and a special revelation was given only to 'Noah', who lived a good life, to build an ark so that he could survive with various animals. Under the broad framework of 'Kwon Seon-Jing-Ak', this story has been loved by many people regardless of religion. - However, the author is most interested in the 'ark' in this story. The ark was said to be 135 m long, 50 m wide and 13.5 m high. Its size is recorded in Genesis 6:14-16. So, if you consider this with the space of modern society, you can think of it as a flat flat apartment of about 40 stories lying on the ground. Looking at the painting 'Noah's Ark' by the American folk artist 'Ed Wood Higgs', I drew an image of the ark according to the scale, and it looked interesting. It consists of three stories, and a long gable roof is mounted on the ship. And several pairs of animals lined up on the boat. The windows are quite small for their size. Since it is a great flood, it seems that they were trying to minimize the places where water could seep in, and to create a minimum ventilation and light environment. If there is one thing that stands out in particular, the four windows on the upper level of the front part are drilled into the positions of the ends of the crosses. Judging from the location of this window, it can be hypothesized that the interior is structured like a chapel rather than having rooms and hallways. - And that hypothesis is seen in today's space. - From the name, it is the Ark Church. It's not about the scale according to the record, but the ratio and proportions can be said to have been taken from it. And the shape of the gable roof and the story of floating on water were visualized as it is. Furthermore, it can be predicted that the window placed in the front part is a chapel. Just like the painting above. - The difference is that this ark was originally composed of three floors excluding the ship, but there is only one floor above the ground. Instead, there is a basement, so I wonder if it would be right to see that part by boat. Since the scale has been reduced only by following the proportions, the interior is inevitably composed of one floor. However, the exterior of the building is finished with wood, probably because of the record that it was made of pine wood. And you can experience the way to enter by boat through the stone bridge in the garden. This space contains this sequence. - I looked around and imagined all the stories and spaces. - What if we were living in a depravity and there was an Absolute who tried to punish us? Is there any room for us to survive against the power of the Absolute? So, looking at the situation in more detail, this time, instead of a flood, if we try to punish us with natural disasters that we can't handle, such as 'mass earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, tornadoes, and tsunamis', there is a safe space where we can survive. will exist? - none. impossible. If we don't leave Earth, it's impossible. - But that situation, set in detail, is perhaps the story that is coming to an end. Have you not experienced it all with your body? Rather than simply calling it 'abnormal weather' and not giving as much awareness as the simple word composition. In reality, we know that awareness from experience. This is actually a very serious story. No one can solve it by doing well. If we really compare it to everyday life, 'It is a team project where about 100 freshmen freshmen at the university, each of them doing their part well, making one PPT and presenting it.' So I have no choice but to let go. Even 4 people are hard, but 100 people is actually 6 billion team play. But did you say that it was called “Mountain of Dust”? Even if 100 people diligently make one page at a time, 100 stories can be told. So, I try to do the best I can in my position. It may be important to try as hard as you can. - Isn't this symbolic space illuminating our lives now through the story that was recorded that it existed in the past [they admitted that there was no fact]? thought that - This is the #ark church, a symbolic space that asks the responsibility of mankind. - Location _ 113 Sanroknam-ro 762beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do - Parking available - Available hours for visiting the chapel _ 09 - 17:00 - PS. The above space is operating in accordance with the Jeju Special Self-Governing City Corona Prevention Guidelines. And there is a cafe across the yard of the building. A Human Encounter with Nature, Supungseok Museum Part 1 - Yoo Dong-ryong, better known under the pseudonym 'Itami Jun'. He is a Korean-Japanese architect who did not give up his Korean citizenship until just before his death. The name 'Itami Jun' is also said to have been created in a hurry to set up his own company in Japan. However, he borrowed the name of the airport he often hears when he travels between Korea and Japan. 'Jun' is an old friend, and it is said that if you read 'Yun' in Japanese by composer 'Ok-Yun Gil', it becomes 'Jun'. - He also left a saying, 'Architecture is about making life.' He argued that space necessarily affects people, and the author agrees with the teacher. Therefore, when preparing a space, it is necessary to prepare the space 'as precious as a person'. - This is the late work of Mr. Dongryong Dong. Water, Wind and Stone Museum. It is a museum in the 'Biotopia' complex. It does not, however, exhibit any works of art. Instead, these spaces display the natural elements 'water, wind, and stone' in the space. The unity of nature and space. Among them, the space we are introducing today is the 'Soo Museum'. - In order to come here, the author has been preparing hard for over a month. This is because, in order to reserve this exhibition on the Finx Biotopia website, it was necessary to make a reservation after waiting for the same time as on the day of watching university students. Only twice a day, only a dozen people are given the opportunity to experience this place. It was so difficult to make a reservation and only arrived here on time. - Looking at the photos, you can ask yourself, 'What kind of space is it? What kind of sentiment will you feel?' I finally set foot in the space I had been thinking about countless times in my head. - Heavy concrete and stone walls are a metaphor for stone walls that can be seen everywhere in Jeju. Walk around that heavy stone wall and enter the Sue Museum. The sky is displayed there. Water reflects the sky. The water is swayed thinly by the wind. Its shaking is rather 'water' and calmer than the state of water without fluctuations. The flickering of light hanging everywhere, the sunlight coming through the hole in the sky. I'm listening to the guide, but I can't hear anything. Just looking at it makes my heart swell. - In this space, as people move, humans become one with nature. By walking, a person meets the sky from the surface of the water. Through the light collected by the space, you can enjoy the intangible light with your eyes and your body. - Stories of the space that the teacher drew are gathered here. - Those who study space or who like space should definitely visit. It is also recommended for those who do not. - This is the #Supungseok Museum, a space that connects water to people. - Location _ Biotopia Supungseok Museum, 79, Sanroknam-ro 762beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do - Parking available - Available hours _ 13:30, Part 1, Part 1, Part 2 [Refer to website for hours other than winter], Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays - Reservation _ Biotopia website - Fees _ General adults 25,000, disabled people 12500, Jeju residents 12500

Humans who met nature, Su ‘Pung’ Seok Museum Part 2 - Biotopia, a compound word of Bio [BIO] + Utopia [UTOPIA]. Even if you look closely at the meaning of the word, this place is a natural utopia. Since nature has meaning and value in itself, it is correct to refer to a utopia in the situation where people want to live in nature together. In that sense, Professor Dongryong Dong wanted to exhibit nature here. Long ago, the ancient Greek philosopher Plato said: There is a 'beautiful order'. At that time, he tried to find the natural order. It can be seen that it has the meaning that it is the most unique thing, the path that philosophical humans can go toward utopia. Then Aristotle said, 'In order to be happy, man needs virtue. You are born with that virtue in the form of potential, but you need education to realize it in reality.' Among the education, skole [leisure] and moussique [music] are emphasized. This is because it contains the essence of the object that music imitates. that music. - Couldn't I mimic both human emotions and nature's emotions as 'yin' in the arguments of two different people? I thought. - This is the 'Pung Museum'. Literally, the wind exhibited. Like that, there are only a few symbolic statues inside the space, but nothing. All that is visible is the movement of light that changes with time. Instead, the wind blows here. When the wind blows strongly through the thin pieces of wood, you can hear the sound. It is said that the shape of the space and the slight curve on one side are also intended for that purpose. So, here, rather than imitation of nature, a kind of utopian nature is exhibited. His philosophy of designing a design that harmonizes through the unity of nature and human beings and creates the influence of the soul is well demonstrated. - The sound of the wind, the human experience. Aren't these two words a super-concept of muse, which Aristotle spoke of a long time ago? In a small room, through the soft sound of the wind. I felt infinitely small in front of nature. And it seems to have come a little closer to the truth that nature cannot be criticized. - This is the #Supungseok Museum, a space where you can experience the wind of Jeju. - - Location _ Biotopia Supungseok Museum, 79 Sanroknam-ro 762beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do - Parking available - Available hours _ 13:30, Part 1, Part 1, Part 2 [Refer to website for hours outside winter] Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays - Reservation _ Biotopia website - Fees _ General adults 25000, disabled 12500, Jeju residents 12500

Humans who met nature, Supung 'Seok' Museum Part 3 - Samdado One of Jeju's Samdas is 'stone'. Stone is the only natural material that changes its shape and properties in response to any external force. It is weathered by the flow of wind and water, and it changes its nature to high temperature and pressure. And if you look at the rocky mountain, you can give it a hard and heavy feeling, but when you climb the rocky mountain, you can get a dynamic and imbalanced view at the same time through the steeply piled stone towers. So this stone is probably the least deformable, but it is a deformable material. - This stone hardly changes the phase of the place, but its exterior and interior are constantly changing. - This 'Stone Museum' preserves the nature of stone as it is. - The outer surface is an oxide steel plate [corten steel]. Over time, the surface of the iron plate turns red as it oxidizes. This is not weakening. You can think of it as the principle that only the surface is coated with oxidized ash. In other words, the inside is as strong as a stone without any problems. The exterior of the building, which is in the form of a square rectangle, gives a feeling of weight like a large stone resting heavily on a rocky mountain. And on one side, there is a cylindrical hole at the intersection of the ceiling and the wall. The entrance to the inside is also heavy. Deep door. When you open the door and enter, the space is surrounded by oxidized iron plates. The floor also seems to be made of iron to match the size of the tile. A ray of light descends from the oxidized interior. Light falls on the rock work placed in the middle of the space. This is the scene that Yoo Dong-ryong intended. Between 1-2 o'clock a light is placed on this stone. And as time passes, the light continues to change the shape of the interior as it travels along the wall. In front of the entrance, there is a terrace with one wall cut out as it is. Is it correct to call it a podium here? A stone peach resembling Sanbangsan is placed on the Buddha's hand. It is similar to the appearance of Sanbangsan that overlaps behind it. This work, which is said to be placed toward the Buddha at Sanbanggulsa Temple, makes the meaning of this space more profound. - In this way, the outside and inside constantly change over time. and keep this place. - I can feel the architecture of the teacher who tried to deepen the human soul through space. The most unavoidable external force is time. What shape should we change in this time? Perhaps, a location that does not change like this space should be made clear. - This is the #Supungseok Museum, a space that illuminates humans through Samda stones in Jeju. - Location _ Biotopia Supungseok Museum, 79, Sanroknam-ro 762beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do - Parking available - Available hours _ 13:30, Part 1, Part 1, Part 2 [Refer to website for hours other than winter], Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays - Reservation _ Biotopia website - Fees _ General adults 25,000, disabled people 12500, Jeju residents 12500

The sun rises from Gapado Lighthouse

This is the most secluded island in Jeju Island. It is Gapado In the evening, the restaurants close. Although it is not a good place to sleep now, the island once drew attention from the public. As far as I know, this place is still in operation. Just enjoying the natural scenery of Gapado and reading a book in a good space is enough to enjoy this part of the island. And if you're staying here, it's a good way to go to watch the sunrise.

If you go to the island village Gapado, [Chapter 3 Gapado Unmanned Cafe Lighthouse]
-
If you go to the port, there is a lighthouse, whether in a large town or a small town. It illuminates the sea route so that ships can safely anchor in the distant sea. The invisible lighthouse keeper knows that he is doing his job quietly when he sees that the ship has arrived well. Gapado Island is a small island measuring about 1.4km in width and length that can be reached in 10 minutes by ferry from Unjin Port in the southwest of Jeju Island. If you walk slowly across the island, you can go from end to end in 15 minutes. At the same time, the low peak for an island captures the characteristics of this island village well. All of them have low building heights, and if there is one thing you can see especially well, it is definitely the lighthouse. red lighthouse. As I walked towards it, I felt the feeling of a trip with one hot dog. The opposite side of Gapado, where he arrived. There is a long wooden shop. When viewed from the road, it resembles an island floating alone on the sea.
-
there is no one There are only a few guidelines. It reads, 'Pay 3,000 won and drink the tea and coffee you want'. A collection of crafts and works decorated in the space. The seats face the port. I paid for myself, prepared tea with the tea bag prepared here, and sat down in a well-lit place. I hear the sound of waves. Because it's an unmanned cafe, I can't even hear basic sounds when the owner of the space is there. Quietly sipping tea with the sound of the waves. I came to Gapado Island hoping for this. Leaning on the sound of the waves, I leave to the deep inner world in order to find reflection on my lost health and mental brain due to my busy life.
-
I feel like I've found my lost path. Contrary to the name of the lighthouse, there is no lighthouse keeper here, but it creates an environment that allows you to find your way in another open sea. It is said that 'meditation' is possible anywhere if you become an expert, but for me as a beginner, the environment is still important. Even though there is no lighthouse keeper, maybe this place is serving the same role as the name? Seeing that my footsteps after I left this place have become lighter, would the invisible keeper of this space be silently fulfilling his role?
-
Through those light steps, I walk around the island this time around the outskirts.
-
It is the famous 'Artist in Residence'. It feels like an abandoned space that somehow doesn't feel popular. A long time ago, when I was working for a company in Hannam-dong, I saw the Gapado exhibition at #Hyundai Car Drive. The urban regeneration project I saw there was a work worthy of applause. The cooperative relationship and results that space artists have longed for and dreamed of. At that time, the short one-hour tour made an impression enough to select Gapado as the first destination on the last Jeju trip. And this space is now abandoned. Now, after a long time has passed, this Gapado is dark and mysterious stories dot the spaces, overshadowing its value. People who chase money People who don't know exactly what kind of group they are, people who don't understand. Yes, chasing money is good. But did you have to be so mean to someone? And did we have to go on breaking the promises we all made? Are the villagers of cooperatives really the villagers of this neighboring village of Cheonjiin Island? When I hear the sounds I hear from time to time through articles, the details, accuracy, and even the sounds they say are all different. You can't believe the article, but by combining several articles and information, you can confirm that something is wrong.
-
A lot of people are suffering because of someone's fault. As a writer who introduces and informs the space, I tend to include information in the content of my writing in as much detail as possible for all readers of my writing. However, my work and efforts are being overshadowed. I feel a little relieved because there are no people visiting the author's writings that are going up now, but I am not comfortable with the news of 'cancellation of reservations' at the travel destinations of many readers who enjoy the space together.
-
However, this space still contains its value in front of the dizzying vast sea.
-
This is #GapadoLighthouse, a space to find lost paths.
-

Gapado Wharf Café is a place to go fishing.

You can rent fishing gear at Gapado Wharf. Of course, you can also drink coffee and drinks made with green barley, a local specialty. But there is nothing more relaxing than the experience of fishing while waiting for a boat. The experience of the beginning and end of Gapado begins with that leisure. This small island is truly a beautiful island. It will be even more beautiful when the green barley in summer is green.

If you go to the island village Gapado, [Chapter 1 Gapado Terminal]
-
At high and low tide, the sea fills and falls. The sea that changes shape with time. The area of 'the sea' was an unknown area to space artists, but it is being discussed a lot now with the development of technology. However, the sea, a space that is still too difficult to bring to the public. The sea changes shape over time. It fills up for a while and then falls, and the height changes. Compared to the land, it is very different from changing the mood to sunset.
-
There are places that come in a little small, and the space changes its appearance according to this time.
-
Such are the urban spaces prepared for awards ceremonies or festivals. Today, I would like to introduce a more organic and reasoned change in appearance. This is the Gapado terminal. It is a cafe, a terminal, and also serves as an information center for this island village. There is a ferry from Unjin Port to Gapado every hour from 9:00 to 16:00 every day. Thanks to this, people come in and out of this space like the ebb and flow every hour.
-
The outgoing boat departs in 10-20 minutes. The incoming ship arrives in 10 minutes and unloads people. So, from 10 minutes to 30 minutes before the start of the hour, the appearance of this place changes dramatically from a 'crowded house' to an empty one. What's even more interesting is that the owners of this space also leave their seats at other times. It was easy to see through the appearance of this space that it was far from crime in a small island town.
-
People who couldn't even see where they were at the time the ship arrived come one after another. Incoming people get information at this terminal and ride free-riding moored bicycles to wherever they want to go. Those who go out first put their suitcases somewhere and cut off the tickets. After that, I go to a cafe and order 'green barley' drinks. Coffee is also available, but drinks and coffee made from green barley, a local specialty, are also available. On the day of departure, even the youngest realized that it was a pity not to eat on the way home.
-
This space also sells various goods representing Gapado. It is also a center where you can experience fishing like an island village, and it is an information center that helps those who have reserved #GapadoHouse enter the GapadoHouse without any guidance. I had to go to a place called 'Snack Bar' with my luggage following the guidance of the owner, who could not speak Korean. When you go there, the owner of the snack bar, who is presumed to be a villager, guides you to the dormitory. special.
-
This place was the equivalent of a hotel lobby in the city. Rather than being in one building, this space is operated in a weighted fashion in accordance with the context of the island, where single-story buildings have grown. The network of villagers is the means of contact for the hotel staff here. It is a village business and at the same time a fun hotel.
-
Would you like to have a variety of unique and diverse programs such as 'cafe, fishing experience, ticket office, terminal, gift shop, and bicycle rental'? I want this space to be working well. On the day I left, I looked at the goods and thought, 'Should I give a present to my friend?' Moreover, the young man ordered green barley latte ice cream, so there is nothing more to say. fun and meaningful

half plant half coffee
-
A cafe space can only be maintained by selling coffee. But in a nicer way, it's more important to show and show what you're doing. This is the owner of a Jeju cafe. It is the Jeju space of Entrustite, a brand that is very much loved in Hannam-dong.
-
Specially, this is a space that has been converted from an old factory. It is possible that it was a mill. However, the artist thinks that how the space has changed is more important than that. Half of the coffee shop is reserved for plants. It is precisely divided in half so that the plants take up space and grow luxuriantly. And from the other half of the seats, people watch this.
-
Although this space was created a long time ago, their challenging attitude still serves as a model. People can drink coffee fresh. Beautiful plants also show clusters, visually reducing fatigue. And what about air? always clear Because it is half human and half plant, there is no need for an air purifier during the day. Both the scene created and the functional part provide comfort considering the environment.
