Philly has seen an increase in coffee shops popping up with a focus on sustainability, single origin sourcing and attention to detail, especially with design. These are just a few of my favorites! What’s your go-to café in Philly?
White Dog Cafe
White Dog Cafe is best known for its award-winning contemporary American Cuisine and friendly service with four neighborhood locations in Philadelphia, the Main Line and Glen Mills.
Since 1983, this White Dog Cafe location in University City has been a destination in the heart of University of Pennsylvania's campus. It’s the first restaurant in Philadelphia to use environmentally sustainable, organic and local foods from farms within 50 miles.
Elixr Coffee Roasters
This is one of my favorite coffee shops to visit in Philly, especially because it’s so spacious with different areas and counters for seating. There are two other locations, but this one is in Center City walking distance to both the Rittenhouse Square area and Philadelphia’s City Hall.
Elixr has been around since 2010, specializing in lighter-roasted unique and exquisite coffees. Each location has such a relaxing atmosphere with incredible stuff and baristas.
Menagerie Coffee
You’ll find this retro, brick-walled café in the heart of Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood. It’s small, locally-owned and one of two locations in Philadelphia. The other one is located in The Bourse Food Hall for dine in and takeout.
They serve Dogwood Coffee, Elixr Coffee and a variety of small eats including assorted pastries, parfaits and a breakfast sandwich. I love their cookies and muffins here!
Also, how cute are the dinosaur figurines in the distance and the oak table?
One Shot Coffee & Cafe
This rustic cafe is very much worth the visit when in Philly. There’s even a unique library upstairs to dine in. Aside from the design and welcoming atmosphere, the food and coffee is great too, so it really just makes for a very well-rounded coffee shop.
Talula's Daily
Talula’s Daily is equal parts all-day cafe, farm-to-table market and intimate dinner destination. The menu is filled with salads, sandwiches, large entrees, soups, cheese boards, pastries and more. As for coffee, La Colombe is served and they have plenty of flavored lattes too such as maple vanilla bean, chai and salted caramel.
Talula’s Garden also featured here is an absolutely stunning setting to dine in for brunch on Sundays only or dinner all week long which opens around 4-5pm.
Konditori Coffee
This Swedish-style coffee chain is located in the City Center West neighborhood, just steps away from Rittenhouse Square. They serve coffee and tea, plus bagels, sandwiches and pastries. It’s quaint and right on the corner of the famous Chestnut Street.
