14 domestic attractions from A to H recommended by Three Rooster after visiting them in person
Gongbech
GONGBECH opens towards the sea, and the language of excessive design is closed. It is run by the family of a BTS member and has become a must-visit spot when visiting Jeju. So, I didn't come here with high expectations. However, contrary to what I thought, the space contained many interesting things. Basically, it is divided into a new space and an exhibition space using an existing old building. The new building adopts a simple reinforced concrete ramen structure and embraces the beautiful scenery of Jeju's beaches through the curtain wall. The simplicity of the exposed concrete finish does not impair the surrounding landscape and, as the name implies, richly captures the landscape beyond the void of space, taking appropriate architectural gestures to take in such a wonderful landscape. The newly constructed building naturally leads to an exhibition space using the closed space. I think if Gentle Monster's showroom was maximized, it would look like this. There are a lot of spaces that use abandoned spaces recently, but this one came to me as a different kind of fun. The variety of attractions shown through the movement adds to the multilayeredness of the space. And at the end of the space, the sea of Jeju reappears. I hope you enjoy relaxing in the void and carefully look at the various spatial devices considered by the designer. 🐔🐔🐔🐔(4) ⠀ #instagram #instagood #design #space #architecture #insighttrip #threerooster #static #travelstagram #insighttrip #spacetour #Jeju Island #space #GONGBeCH #autumn travel #Jeju sea #walking #Jeju Travel #Like #Jeju Tourism #Jeju Architecture #Gongguk Cafe #Jeju Cafe #Jeju Hotple #Sea Travel
Nonspace
[Icheon Cafe to enjoy the non-view, Non-space NONSPACE]
⠀
Located in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do.
⠀
These days, large cafes with unique and clear concepts are popping up in the suburbs of Seoul. I think it's because you can build a building that fits the concept to your heart's content without the stress of parking in a large space. When you arrive at Hobeop in Icheon, you will find an impressive building located on a hillside. If you leave the car road and follow the country road that crosses the quiet rice fields, you will come across a magnificent and unique building.
Exposed concrete walls and minimalist architecture give the exterior a cold feeling. The views, landscaped like a courtyard, had a different atmosphere for each seat, and unlike the cold exposed concrete on the outside, the inside of the cafe had a warmer atmosphere than expected. The furniture was mainly made of wood, so it was in harmony with the landscape and gave a cozy and quiet feeling.
⠀
At the cafe on the first floor, you will feel at ease somewhere if you enjoy light drinks and desserts, and enjoy the view of the rice fields. The wide open view of the front yard and the nature of the river bank add to the non-space atmosphere. It is recommended to visit if you miss the fun of seeing the unique architecture, the cool and spacious view of the rice fields, and the cozy countryside feeling.

⠀ ⠀ [The Spreading Divinity of Heavy Silence, Duson Art Museum] ⠀ Located in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do. ⠀ Biotopia, a townhouse and private property in SK Pinx Resort. Just like a school has a playground, and an apartment has a playground, there is a large park and promenade, with the Supungseok Museum and Duson Art Museum in between. ⠀ The museums in Biotopia are the work of the world-famous Zainichi architect Itamijun. Therefore, the Duson Museum of Art was also designed with the unique values of the various physical and humanities surrounding the site as the main material. The colorful appearance of praying with hands together toward Sanbangsan follows the instinctive gestures of the architect himself when facing the dignified nature. ⠀ The Duson Art Museum was like an air-raid shelter. cold iron. empty space. calm air. I felt solemn for nothing, as if I was the last survivor of mankind. He also looked back at himself with a long attitude that he was not just one person, but only one person. The power given by the space was so thick. ⠀ Visual afterimages remain for a long time. In fact, the mass itself was simple, but like the works of a few talented people, I carefully learned the difference in detail. A few rays of light, the harmony of the amount and texture of each stone, iron, and wood, and the transition of the scene according to the movement line realized even in that small space. The reason that the ample time allotted on this day was pressed was due to an unexpected and exciting stay here. ⠀ ⠀ [Information] Venue: Biotopia Duson Art Museum Address: 795, Sangcheon-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do Hours of Operation: See website (varies by season), Holidays Closed: See website ⠀ 🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔(5.0) ⠀ #ThreeRooster #Static Electricity #Insight Trip #Day Trip #Biotopia #Duson Art Museum #Jeju Island #Seogwipo Worth #Jeju Island Worth Visiting #Architecture Trip #Jeju Island Architecture #Weekend Outing #Like #instagram #instagood #design #space #architecture #insighttrip # threerooster #daytripkorea #interior #biotopia #02architecture
Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul
[Frank Gehry's first Korean work, Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul]
⠀
Located in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul.
⠀
The Louis Vuitton flagship store located on the luxury street in Cheongdam, opened less than three months ago. It drew attention as the first Frank Gehry building in Korea, and also draws attention with its organic and free-spirited design. However, it is very unfortunate that the most important façade is covered by the tree in front of it. The inside is a luxury hall itself. Marble is rampant and even the stair railings are finished in leather, so even the smallest detail is taken care of. Floors, walls, ceilings, various products and accessories, furniture, lighting, etc... All of them have their own unique colors, but the sense of color that harmonizes with each other is admirable. It is unique but not clumsy, and it is honest but not boring. Of course, this is only the case with the unique curtain wall that appears occasionally, and the internal structure itself is a simple square shape, and it is a thoroughly practical space divided into a core (EV, stairs, etc.) and a room on each floor. The main character is not a building, but a product for sale anyway, so it is a space for shopping. It is a luxurious building that looks gorgeous on the outside but is faithful to the basics on the inside.

Muryangsa Temple
⠀
[Indescribable time and wisdom, Mt. Mansusan Muryangsa]
⠀
Location of Oesan-myeon, Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do
Based on a thousand-year history, a place that embraces both the beauty of nature and traditional architecture. Muryangsa Temple in Buyeo's Mansusan Mountain is filled with visitors with Dasosagot's Mansusan Mountain as the background. Muryangsa Temple appears after running for about 30 minutes in downtown Buyeo, which contains the splendid memories of Baekje.
A stone lantern, stone pagoda, and Geuknakjeon are revealed against the backdrop of the Cheonwangmun Gate, which is guarded by the Four Heavenly Kings over the lush forest and valley. The very famous <Muryangsa 5-story Stone Pagoda (Treasure No. 185)>, which is said to contain the relics of the Buddha, welcomes visitors magnificently. It is naturally blending with the surrounding nature, taking as a friend a dense tree that cannot be guessed how old it may have been.
It is known as the place where the genius poet of Joseon, Maeoldang Kim Si-seop (one of the incarnations) stayed in the last years of his life, while retaining the meaning of Muryangsa, “to cultivate the way of innumerableness that neither time nor wisdom counts.” Muryangsa Temple, known as a place where he hid for the rest of his life, criticizing the death of his nephew Danjong and then becoming a king, Muryangsa is a deep place that also contains the philosophy of loyalty, loyalty, and integrity.
The largest, Geuknakjeon Hall in the center looks like a two-story structure from the outside, but from the inside, it boasts a high ceiling with no floor divisions, and is reverently enshrined with a flower pot and a reclining Buddha. Regardless of your religion, you become sober and at ease.
Muryangsa Temple that you can find as if you were coming to a valley to play or light mountaineering. There is a convenient parking space at the entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants at the entrance that boast local but clean taste. How about throwing away your worries and anguish for a while, forgetting your daily life for a while and taking a break and a chance to think at Muryangsa Temple?

Bauzium Sculpture Museum
In Gangwon Province, Goseong, there lies a museum where stone, wood, water, and sculpture come together against the majestic backdrop of Seoraksan. Founded in 2015 by dentist Dr. Ahn Jung-mo and sculptor Kim Young-sook, the place was designed by architect Professor Kim In-cheol, drawing its name from 'bau,' which means rock in Gangwon dialect. The rough texture of the walls inside makes one think of rocks, leading to a procession of light and sculpture. Although there are several buildings, the way light beautifully seeps in and sculptures respond to it is captivating. The main building conveys the space's message intensively, with water spreading in front of the sculpture garden and exhibition spaces set against this backdrop. The sight of Seoraksan, sculptures, gardens, and water coming together as one landscape is magnificent. Unlike abroad, where there are hardly museums dedicated solely to sculptures, this place feels dedicated to sculptures. Although there are many works by artist Kim Young-sook, it's a rich space with works from other artists as well. The well-maintained gardens seen while walking between spaces were beautiful. The courtyards between buildings are impressive, but the clean and comfortable gardens are as charming as the space itself. Upon leaving, visitors can enjoy a coffee included in the entry fee and browse simple art products in the art shop. Strolling leisurely in this impressive space created by the wonderful atmosphere of Seoraksan in Gangwon Province, pine forests, rocks, water, and sunlight, and feeling the peaceful rest might be a splendid idea.

⠀
Where is the architecture and space representing Korea? Numerous spaces come to mind, and each one has a different answer, but the place we are introducing today is definitely one of the answers. It is a private garden, a quiet garden nestled in the mountains of Gunwi for thought.
⠀
The private garden was started by Taechang Steel Chairman Yoo Jae-seong, who protected and bought a few Korean quince trees that were being sold helplessly to Japan, and now sits at the foot of the 100,000-pyeong-scale Gunwi Mountain. Sayyuwon, meaning a garden for thought, is a collaboration between architect Seung Hyo-sang, who represents the domestic architecture world, and the master Alvaro Sija. Hearing the participation of the two great masters, who were full of excitement just by hearing their names, they headed towards it.
By beautifully arranging the mass of exposed concrete in vertical and horizontal volumes in the beautiful foothills of the mountain, it blurs the boundary between the inside and outside through aesthetic cuts that allow light and air to flow in. The architectural experience of changing the height from high to low and from dark to bright is impressive, but the end of the mountain view of Gunwi is the most moving. The intention of the architecture to contain the landscape and thought seemed faithful.
Alvaro Siza's 'Soyoheon' was the most moving space. Taken from Zhuangzi's 'Soyoyu (Life is a picnic)', a ray of light seeps into the darkness. If you look for the edge of the light that shines through, a landscape appears, and the aesthetic experience is enriched by looking at the sculptures made of steel and marble in it.
Seung Hyo-sang's 'Myeongjeong' and 'Pungseolgi Millennium' with 108 quince trees are also impressive points. Myeongjeong, a place of meditation where you can look at life anew at the boundary between life and death, is immersed in contemplation that you have never felt in your daily life as you walk through the red walls and rows of columns. In the Millennium of the Year of Pungsolgi, a quince field that reminds us of the 108 times of injustice, we bow our heads in the new emotion of the beauty of trees and landscaping.
A thought worker whose experience is more meaningful than any words or explanations. A cafe has recently opened under the design of Architect Choi Wook, and a hotel will be opened soon, so make sure to visit it. May you have a time of peaceful reflection and a space of thought, a conversation with me that you have never experienced in your daily life in a private garden.

Uirimji Reservoir
⠀
[Pleasant trails gifted by nature, Uirimji]
⠀
Located in Mosan-dong, Jecheon-si.
⠀
Uirimji is one of the three oldest reservoirs in Korea along with Byeokgolje in Gimje and Susanje in Miryang. It is said that Jecheon Uirimji is the only one among the three major reservoirs that still contain water and refill it. At least for those who were born and raised in Chungcheong Province, Uirimji is a famous tourist destination that they have heard or visited since they were young. It is a representative relaxation course for Jecheon citizens, and it is a place that presents beautiful walking trails throughout the four seasons.
⠀
There are parks with trails along the reservoir in most areas, but Uirimji is by no means an ordinary place. An appropriate and perfect harmony of common elements such as an expansive view, a beautiful green area, a dizzyingly cool waterfall, a cute duck boat, a traditional pavilion, and a nostalgic amusement park that firmly takes the place of the first among the ten scenic views of Jecheon It is the only reliance, but it becomes a wonderful charm.
⠀
When introducing the pictures of Uirimji, many people still show a different reaction, asking if there was such a place in Korea. Uirimji is a representative reservoir of beauty in Korea that no one has ever been to, but no one has been to, even if he has never been to Uirimji, which always shows his style no matter what kind of clothes he wears because of his natural beauty, whether it is day or night, summer or winter.

제네시스 수지전시관
__Genesis Suzy ⠀ Genesis Suzy, located in Yongin, is the second Genesis exhibition hall following Gangnam. It is the largest Genesis exhibition hall in Korea with a total floor area of 4,991m2 (about 1,510 pyeong) with 4 floors above ground, but the term “largest” is a bit embarrassing because there are still only two dedicated showrooms. The exterior of the square building is covered with several layers of weather-resistant steel plates like dominoes, and the perforated steel plate is filled in between the gaps, so the inside looks soft and brittle depending on the angle. This push-pull creates an interesting contrast, in which the light from the outside sees in during the day and the light inside sees out at night. The designer wanted this space to exist as a stage for the content (automobile) that represents the brand's DNA rather than focusing on architectural performance. Therefore, the three DNAs of Genesis, boldness, progress, and Korean beauty, were resolved as 'the essence of Korean design (human beauty, natural beauty, subtlety, and balance beauty)' rather than 'intuitive design for tradition', and the design that needs interpretation was completed. The exterior is finished with a weather-resistant steel plate (a finishing material that forms a film that prevents corrosion and darkens when oxidized), which represents the value of Genesis that promises constant trust and trust to customers, and the interior is finished with wood-grained rough concrete to keep it understated. I added a natural look to the layout. The special exhibition space on the first floor, the highlight of this space, has only one vehicle on display, and it overwhelms visitors with the ceiling height of over 10m, which is open to the third floor. There is also an unusual scene in which vehicles that cannot be introduced before are spread all over one wall to create a 'car tower' because the limited area is yielded to customers and vehicles as much as possible. Tea was felt as a showroom that was nothing more than a stage for customers and products. I expect that the next Genesis exhibition hall will be a great guy that can show that it is architectural in itself. ⠀ 🐔🐔🐔🐥(3.5) ⠀ #instagram #instagood #design #space #architecture #insighttrip #threerooster #static #travelstagram #insighttrip #spacetour #Gyeonggi-do places to visit #genesissuzy #yongin #suji #suji #seoul suburb tour #Domestic travel stargram #Weekend outing #Like
Old House of Choe Sunu in Seongbuk-dong
Choi Soon-woo's old house, saved from demolition by the citizens. While it was almost demolished, this Hanok (traditional Korean house) was preserved thanks to the sponsorship of the citizens. Tea is sold here, allowing visitors to enjoy a friendly tea time against the backdrop of a Hanok on a sunny day. Although I have never deeply learned about Hanok, the greatest charm of Hanok is undoubtedly its 'soft beauty.' I think the warmth of Hanok, placed between the excessive flamboyance of traditional Chinese architecture and the tense coldness of Japanese traditional architecture, serves as an outstanding value for human habitation. The warmth continues from the entrance to the yard, back road, and garden. As a result, my steps become lighter as if I'm visiting a neighbor's house I used to frequent.
COSMO 40
[Rebirth of an old factory just before demolition, Cosmo 40]
⠀
Located in Seo-gu, Incheon.
⠀
As the Cosmo Chemical plant moves to Ulsan, the Incheon site is on the verge of being demolished. With the will and execution power of some with capital, an old factory that will soon disappear is reborn as a cultural space representing the region, entering its second heyday.
⠀
Since the Cosmo 40 was a factory, it still overwhelms the first impression with its scale. High ceilings and an open floor plan are a different experience in themselves for modern people who spend most of their time in apartments and office buildings. It also reveals a space design with a lot of care, which would be impossible if it were simply to reduce the weight of the existing industrial site and decorate it with chairs and tables. The physical independence maintained as the new building surrounds and penetrates the existing building avoids the erasure of identity when it meets the current law on regenerative architecture. Thanks to this, while preserving the taste of the old, it did not lose the sense of the new that the times demanded.
⠀
If you visit various places in Korea called complex cultural spaces, most of them are filled with justifications. There are many keywords such as public space, event hall, store, and exhibition space, but in reality, it is correct to call it a cafe. Cosmo 40 is also making various attempts not to be dismissed as a large cafe, but the vitality lies in the cafe. Now, it is my wish that a complex cultural space with a broader concept and dimension appears rather than simply a 'space of rest and paying a price'.

From the entrance, you can meet the series of 'Skate Park Series', which has been established as the representative work of artist Jung-ah Koo. As soon as you enter the entrance, the 30m high glass ceiling dome, 9m floor height and audience-type staircase maximize the sense of openness, making it an unconventional space for shoppers. to offer In particular, GLASS VILLE, where you can feel the sensuous view in nature with the five senses along with the unique architecture, is decorated with the motif of the actual mountain range of Barasan. In addition, you can feel the eco-friendly and delicate space design that fills the illuminance with sunlight rather than LED bulbs in most spaces, and breathes through natural wind rather than air conditioners. The indoor shopping space also shows a space that shares warm and relaxed energy through the lighting of the void space reminiscent of a healing spot in a large mansion. The open and closed roof, open folding doors and wide store circulation, which cannot be seen anywhere else in Korea, give you the feeling of experiencing a futuristic shopping space optimized for shopping in advance. The space of the food court where you can quench your hunger while shopping was not designed in a rush. Peace Culture Bunker
The transformation of a military facility into a space for peace culture in Dobong-gu, Seoul, demonstrates the potential for rejuvenating areas with historical and spatial significance. In 1970, five three-story apartment buildings were constructed against the backdrop of Mt. Dobongsan on a barren field, originally serving as a military post on a route of the North Korean army after the war, camouflaged as residential spaces with anti-tank installations on the lower floors. Demolished in 2004 due to aging, except for the military facilities on the ground floor, it was transformed in 2017 through spatial regeneration into a cultural and artistic creation space and a resting area for citizens. Nestled between the majestic mountains of Suraksan and the vibrant streams of Jungnangcheon River, it offers a tranquil atmosphere that's hard to believe is in Seoul. The soldiers' resting and working spaces have turned into artists' creative areas, and the anti-tank facilities into walking paths for citizens. A new 20-meter high observation tower allows panoramic views of the surroundings, and the remodeling with warm wooden panels and gypsum board on the original concrete structure of the military facilities blends naturally with the lush environment. It symbolizes the rebirth of a military facility into a cultural site.

[Stop what you are doing and take a break, Howo Coffee]
⠀
Located in Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si.
⠀
As you drive along the winding mountain road along the southern coastline, you can see the panoramic view and the sensuous concrete architecture clearly in your eyes. Although it is a simple cube of cubes, it receives the sunlight pouring down from the cliff and reveals its presence thanks to the sharp contrast of the sides.
⠀
With the theme of 'how', which means summer rain, Yun Seon-do's poem 'How-yo', written by Gosan Yun Seon-do, is said to be the content of reminiscing on a rainy day in the farmhouse and in the mountains. In response to the client's request for this space to be such a leisurely space in the lives of modern people, Sowoo Lee Architects designed it in a way that maximizes the proper movement and cool view.
⠀
The space composed of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors is based on the 2nd floor. Perhaps because they wanted to make the most of the interior space, movement to each floor is possible only through the external circulation. Each floor exists independently, but the perfect view of Machang Bridge is expressed as a highlight on every floor.
⠀
It is a very beautiful place with a rare natural environment where the Namhae and the bridge are spread out, so that alone is a reason to visit. Although the architect designed a wonderful building with his sensuous skills, it seems to have sublimated into a vessel that contains this wonderful natural environment. It looked like the result of a good project that the owner completed in keeping with the architect's persuasion and demands.
