Manchun Bookstore

Manchun Bookstore, an independent bookstore in Hamdeok.
Manchun Bookstore is operating in half-parts.
It is not a large space as the books do not overlap due to different genres, but it is a very fruitful space.

First of all, the Manchun Bookstore in Part 1 is a white square building with a neat interior. Inside, albums and goods were also sold, and there were many books related to music and art.

Part 2 was a red brick building and had a slightly different atmosphere. There were many independent books and novels inside, and there was a small space to sit by the window.
It is said that you can read quietly after purchase.

Manchun Bookstore was selling its own goods in every space. From the logo font of Manchun Bookstore, I saw a sensuous design, and there are various goods using this lettering font.

It is located not far from Hamdeok Beach.
It would be good to stop by for a while and browse through books, albums, and goods.

Long live the Jeju

Water, food and alcohol

Shining and not disappearing with three themes
Jejuโ€™s long-lasting identity
Of course, interpreted with today's sensitivity
Japanese culture, the home of the brand
It was harmonious and beautifully presented.

It is difficult to pinpoint each one in words or writing
new perspectives on our culture,

In the organic flows that those elements create,
While deeply impressed,
Such a natural plan is what other developed countries do.
Is it still impossible without borrowing the senses?
I felt a little resentful and sad.

๐Ÿ“Rumors of bookstores๐Ÿ“
This was the first time I bought a book while traveling.
Well curated, what to choose
After much deliberation, I picked up a book.
.
I was reading the book yesterday afternoon
I remembered this day for a while.
The atmosphere, smell, and even the weather of the space.
I'm afraid this feeling will fade
sitting in front of the computer
I've edited the photos I've taken for a long time.
.
One more way to remember the trip.
Even if it is not a book, it reminds you of the feeling of travel.
You should bring a souvenir that is not a souvenir.

'Azuleju', an egg tart restaurant with a European sensibility. When I first visited Jeju Island 5 years ago, I happened to find out about this cafe! It was a temporary opening period, so I went quietly, but I had a good memory of that time after moving in, so I went to visit right away, and I was impressed that it was the second time I came โ˜บ๏ธ I think it's the best place in a cafe in Jeju Island! You have to eat two, three, four egg tarts๐Ÿ˜‚ Have a happy day today hehehe <627 Sinpung-ri, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju>

Gwangchigi Beach
Gwangchigi Beach where you can see Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and the Big Dipper on a clear day

Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is right in front of you, and it is one of my favorite beaches as it is covered with black sand and mysterious rocks.
In particular, this time, I was able to see various aspects of Gwangchigi Beach by staying at Place Camp Jeju and stopping by several times.
In Gwangchigi in the afternoon, he was doing blogging activities, and at sunset, he could see Seongsan Ilchulbong in the pink sky.
I usually go to see Seongsan Ilchulbong, but if you walk along the promenade in the opposite direction, you can enjoy a different Gwangchigi Beach while looking at the wide sea. There are cafes such as Tiger Tiger Cafe on the way, so it is good to take a break and enjoy the view.

Especially this time, the best thing was that I was able to see the stars on a clear day.
When I climbed Oreum, I could see the Big Dipper from Gwangchigi Beach, which I couldn't see because of the cloudy weather.
It was a clear day, so I stopped by at night just in case, but I could see the stars very clearly.

From Gwangchigi to Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, you can enjoy various views of the day, sunset, and stars.

A really cozy bookshop tucked away in an alley, but the inside was incredibly well-stocked and stylish. Right at the entrance, there was a corner that categorizes and recommends books by category in great detail, making me want to come back and read one of the top recommendations every time I have time if I stay in this neighborhood for long. For a small town, I was surprised by the wide range of books available, including art books, and the numerous interior-designed spaces available for reading were also impressive. However, walking from Plaese Euemul to the timid bookshop felt slightly rough as the alley was a bit rugged. Other than that, it was a highly satisfying space.

Abu Oreum, an easy climb for beautiful scenery

Good to go to the east with the family
Oreum is perfect for picnics!
It takes about 7-10 minutes to go up.
If you go up, there are cedar trees in the crater.
Surround yourself and show the mystery โ˜บ๏ธ
It's so pretty even at sunset, so it's a self-wedding
Oreum is a good place to take snapshots.

Jeju scenery like a painting

'Shincheon Ranch' can only be seen in winter in a year
By drying the tangerine peel, a more Jeju-like scenery is created.
I'm making it haha
Next to the tangerine peels, there is an emerald sea color.
I'm giving you points because they are contradictory โ˜บ๏ธ
If you go to Olle Trail Course 3 and Cafe Mulsup
You can see wonderful scenery!
Have a nice day today๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

A rural school reborn as a photo gallery. Kim Young-gap Gallery Dumoak, 2002, Kim Young-gap. The building introduced today was originally Samdal Elementary School, which opened in 1967. Following the implementation of educational autonomy in 1990, Jeju Island, which had scarce provincial budgets, pushed for the consolidation of small schools, leading to the school's closure in 1998 and being leased to photographer Kim Young-gap in 2001. In the summer of 2002, it opened its doors as 'Kim Young-gap Gallery Dumoak'. 'Dumoak' refers to the old name of Mount Halla, and the space houses works by Kim Young-gap, who has exclusively captured Jeju Island in photographs for over 20 years. Because the artist personally renovated the abandoned school, it resembles the old elementary school buildings on Jeju Island, being a single-story reinforced concrete structure. Furthermore, the playground has been transformed into a garden with stone statues, and the former corridors and classrooms now serve as exhibition spaces. This adaptation seems suitable for galleries and studios, as schools are generally designed with wide spaces between columns. The gallery also has a memorial room displaying Kim Young-gap's works and personal items, allowing visitors to see his books, camera, and memories from his active years and battle with Lou Gehrig's disease through photos and videos. Unlike other galleries, admission comes with a postcard featuring a photo of Jeju Island taken by the artist, which was a unique feature. The indoor space, with its low ceiling and soft lighting, offers a serene environment for quietly appreciating the photographs. Spaces between the walls where only one of the artist's photographs is displayed also serve to emphasize the work, which seems possible due to the horizontal frame size of the pictures. Behind the gallery, there's a self-service tea house and a walking path, providing a quiet place for rest. The gallery not only revitalizes an old building but also enriches the cultural landscape in a rural area lacking such facilities.
