Hangeul
Starting from the phrase 'Where to go,' I stumbled upon this place and it has become my favorite spot in Yeonnam-dong. A cafe opened by a bartender husband and a barista wife, Hangeul, embodies their tastes in the most unique way by naming it after the wife's name. This place was created through the collaboration of experts carefully selected by the owner, incorporating everything from the interior to the ceiling's traditional Korean painting, glasses, and playlist made exclusively for this location. The touches of those who know the owner can be felt throughout the cafe, representing them in every sense. The cafe, named after the Korean alphabet, opened its doors on Hangeul Day, coinciding with the owner's birthday. Spending a considerable amount of time here with companions, forgetting our next destination, the cafe brings together elements from Japan, Europe, and even forests, seas, and construction sites. Visiting this place makes us realize that our excitement responds more to people than to sensational things. It is both a cafe and an owner, an owner and a cafe, Hangeul.

🐈⬛ Ghibli Studio's official cafe, integrating the world of Kiki's Delivery Service. In Yeonnam-dong, the 'Koriko Cafe,' themed after Koriko town chosen by Kiki for her witch training and the Guchoki Bakery in the village, has arrived. It spans approximately 240 square meters, encompassing the ground and first floors, a garden, and a rooftop, all decorated to evoke the animation's spaces, offering great emotional impact to Ghibli fans. From mug-shaped mug tarts to six-flavored bundt cakes and Dutch baby pancakes, a variety of desserts are available. There's also an MD shop for purchasing character goods.
부트 카페 연남점
Boot Café, following its success in Seochon, has also opened its doors in Yeonnam, maintaining the local ambiance with its exterior and interior design, and serving delicious coffee. Despite its small size, the space is fulfilling. It's the only place in Korea using Fuglen coffee beans. In particular, Boot Café's signature latte, which adds almond cream and cocoa powder to the latte, achieves a sweet and savory harmony. Spending time in this place, reminiscent of Paris, might even make you mistake it for being in the Marais District. ✔ add. 33, Donggyo-ro 46-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul ✔ insta. @bootcafe.seoul ✔️ Closed on Mondays Not visited Marais District
Sojeom
A small Japanese restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, famous for its Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki stacked with ingredients and Osaka-style mixed and fried Okonomiyaki, as well as enjoyable side dishes like Takoyaki and Yakisoba bread, and drinks like Highballs and beer. With a waiting time of over two hours on weekdays due to its popularity, the restaurant has a one-hour dining limit but provides a sufficiently enjoyable experience for food and drinks. A quiet atmosphere is preferred, so visiting in small groups is recommended.
Salt House Deli & Shop
The third space of 'Salt House' operates as a grocery store on the first floor and a deli on the second. Compared to Anguk and Mangwon, it's currently less crowded, allowing for a more pleasant experience.

Rope Space is a new cafe in Yeonnam-dong, sharing its space with the well-known coffee gem, Rope Coffee, and the interior design firm, Different. It's more than a simple cafe, offering a unique purpose with its versatile space use. The U-shaped table and chair arrangement next to the window on the ground floor, and an outdoor garden that competes with the interior space, give Yeonnam-dong a distinct vibe. The cafe operates over 2 floors, with outdoor terraces on each. Their coffee is delightful, and the friendly staff makes it an indulgent space for weekend visits with my wife. The pet-friendly aspect and a kids' zone are advantages, although the stairs to the second floor may require careful navigation. Among the myriad cafes in bustling Yeonnam-dong, it’s exciting to see how Rope Space will distinguish itself with its various appeals. You can choose from two types of beans, including three kinds of single-origin beans for filter coffee. I ordered a Colombian La Estrella Geisha Natural, which had a complex acidity with pinkish floral and fruity notes. The music in Rope Space is jazz, which fills the space without being overbearing. Lo-fi would also fit well, but trendy pop might not, so selecting music from instrumental genres is recommended.
히포 브런치하우스 Hippo brunchhaus
A newly opened American brunch spot in Yeonnam-dong, 'Hippo Cafeteria', is a place to enjoy wine and coffee produced in season, along with American brunch. Operated on both the ground floor and the basement, it also features a grocery where you can purchase wine from the market and use it in the shop. You can taste a variety of dishes such as seasonal fruit French toast, Mother Chicken Waffle, and Burrata cheese cold pasta.
카멜커피 9호점
Camel Coffee, which has established itself as a hotspot in Seongsu-dong with its vintage atmosphere, is expanding its territory with its unique color to Gangnam, Yongsan, Yeouido, and more. Now, Camel Coffee aims to continue its popularity with its 9th store, located in Yeonnam-dong. This Camel Coffee in Yeonnam retains the vintage feel characteristic of Camel, while adding a cozy and exotic atmosphere set against the backdrop of Yeonnam-dong's alleys. The signature 'Camel Coffee' offers an attractive coffee flavor that starts with a smooth and sweet cream taste and finishes cleanly with a slightly bitter coffee flavor as it progresses.
