During holidays, the media often shows celebrities wearing Hanbok and broadcasting programs with Hanoks as the backdrop. This has been the case for past holidays and will likely continue. There's something about holidays that beckons scenes set in Hanok. If there are rare moments of rest without any thoughts, it’s during the Chuseok and Lunar New Year season in Busan. Despite being unable to rest from work every day of the season, there's at least a day to relax without work concerns. This last holiday was no exception, and the space found with a military friend was a place called Hanok in Gijang. Though it's not a type of space I'd normally visit, the special timing of the holiday and the anticipation of meeting people not often seen prompted the search for a Hanok backdrop. Why do people seek to do something against a Hanok backdrop during holidays? It was a thought that occurred during a profound conversation with a military companion, sharing updates we hadn't in a while. The conclusion was that it's simply the most suitable backdrop to visualize tradition. Additionally, around this time, many families bring their parents to enjoy coffee in Hanok spaces, making it meaningful for me as well. Spaces that cater to various age groups are not common, indicating thorough preparation for inclusivity. Especially during holidays, having family, people, and Hanok as the backdrop brings a deep, event-like sentiment. Thus, this place has become somewhere that shows me the holidays. This place is the Hanok Cafe in Gijang, Busan.
Chilam-sagye
Absolutely Gijang Hot Place Cafe
Chilam Four Seasons
Chilam Sagye is a cafe in Gijang, Busan. On the Gijang side, there is an ocean view cafe with various charms, and you can meet the Chilam Four Seasons here. This cafe has a different atmosphere from other ocean view cafes, where you can see the ocean view in the front and the center and back are full of green nature. Like a large cafe, it has a wide variety of bakery menus and a wide space, as well as a variety of seats. I was able to see that it was full of customers even during the morning hours on weekdays, and it became a hot topic as a place where you can meet the famous Baker Lee Heung-yong in Busan.
⠀
The interior is divided into the main building and the garden house, on the 1st to 3rd floors. There are a lot of tables, but there are a lot of people, so it is recommended to move a little early to get a seat you want. The Garden House is operated as a quiet space, and when I visited in October, the hottest cafes in Gijang were Chilam Sagye and Koralani. If you live in Busan, it is recommended as a cafe worth visiting at least once in Gijang.

Waveon Coffee

The concept of 'Janggyeong' is about setting a landscape on a stage. Unlike 'Chagyeong', where you can enter the scenery and become the protagonist, in 'Janggyeong', you maintain a distance and merely observe. This experience is epitomized by 'Waveon Coffee', located on a coastal cliff. It suggests that we should sit in a seat and let unnecessary elements fade away, leaving only the trees, ocean, and blue sky. By integrating architectural elements and the natural surrounding, it enhances the scenic view, making every direction a perfect backdrop. The sound of waves, the refreshing breeze, the endless horizon, and the warm sunlight complete a perfect symphonic play in this beautiful space of 'Waveon Coffee'.

Seoul from the river, Busan from the sea. - Long ago, there was a time when picnics on the Han River were popular. 2-3 years ago from now. Interestingly, at that time, the business of renting out picnic packages on the floors of several officetels along the Han River began to emerge. In Korea, where delivery is possible anywhere, there is no other way to go without any preparation, borrow equipment, and have a lot of fun with delivery food. After Seoul, Busan is also the place that quickly reflects trends. The phrase “the second capital of Korea” is now awkward, but it seems that the cultural habits are still the same. Busan is the sea. As it is surrounded by the sea to the southeast, it has a very good geographical feature for having a picnic in the sea. Moreover, rather than giving a generally similar impression like the Han River, each point has distinct characteristics due to the nature of the sea. - The mood of picnics changes depending on the surrounding environment. It will be even more so since it is an experience in an outdoor space. If we compare Gijang Sea between Gwangalli and Haeundae, which are famous, the biggest difference is the appearance of the beach. There is no sandy beach here, only stones. The waves are rough and the water is deep, and the color of the water is darker than Haeundae and Gwangalli. The setting sun is in the east, so it is colored red, and as you go to Gwangalli, Haeundae, you can see the pink color. Instead, if there is something good, you can hear the cool sea that is inaccessible right in front of your feet and the sound of the cool waves more dramatically. Wouldn't it be a new game to try again to be able to have a picnic on this coastal rock? - This space is a platform for picnics around this area. There are also menus that focus on fresh fruits, but the picnic lunch boxes stand out more. The fact that you can even rent a camera shows the delicate consideration that you want the experience of this place to be impressive. - The location is similar to a lighthouse, and the cafe experience on the waves is unique as you climb on a rock and face the sea right in front of you. Even though it was a bad day due to a typhoon, the gentle sound of the waves breaking through the glass wall and fresh fruit yogurt turned into a time for a daily picnic. - Gijang, Ulsan sea. This so-called rural neighborhood, where there was nothing, now has a completely different face. I think it has become a place with so many things to see and visit as often as Yeongdo when you come to Busan. pleased. - This is a picnic #Picnicker in the sea in Gijang. - Location _ 396, Munoseong-gil, Ilgwang-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan - Business Hours _ Daily 11:00~19:00 Last order 18:30 (closed every Tuesday) - Parking _ Use of nearby port parking lot - Menu is attached. - PS. This space is operating in accordance with the Busan Corona Virus Prevention Guidelines. Please note that there is no inconvenience in using the space.
Coralani
As a person who loves the sea, Coralani of the view that I have never been able to exclaim with admiration.
The Busan Gijang sea was full of the Mediterranean feeling of Santorini that I only saw in photos.
The name Coralani is a compound word of coral and heaven.
Wasn't this paradise for me?

The Gama
A tea shop with a cozy garden
more gama
The Gama is a tea specialty store located in Gijang, Busan. Gijang is an area with many ocean view cafes, and you can meet The Gama here. The garden terrace can be said to be the biggest attraction of The Kiln. There is also an outdoor seating area, so you can enjoy tea in a different atmosphere. It's a vegan-oriented tea shop, and before I visited this place, I looked around the reviews and saw that I visited a lot with my parents. It seems to be a good date course for lovers, and you can meet about 20 types of tea and desserts are also available.
⠀
Inside, there are quite a few tables all the way to the inside, and you can reserve the tea course on The Gama menu through Naver Reservation. The attitude of the staff and the representative was very impressive. When I see a space, I always imagine someone, and I think the mood of The Kiln and the management team is in harmony, showing a wonderful harmony. It is recommended for those who are looking for a different space other than the Ocean View Cafe in Gijang.

🎶 Music
⠀
The Gama's music is colored with easy listening-style jazz performances. Although it shows harmonious harmony with the space, I think that piano music is more suitable for the space than jazz if it makes use of the atmosphere of the space with strong oriental colors. It seems to be able to make the mood darker with a calm fusion Korean music performance. The music was a little disappointing for me personally.

Park Taejoon Memorial Hall

Architecture, being the act of building structures on land, requires an understanding and interpretation of the land, skills our ancestors had in abundance. They revered nature, choosing locations for their homes based on the terrain's elements. This can be seen in the seemingly non-systematic placement of buildings in Changdeokgung Palace, a result of reading the messages given by the land and accommodating the structures accordingly. This respect for nature runs in our blood, as I felt while experiencing the Park Tae-Joon Memorial Hall. The hall, located in Imrang Village in Busan, is humbly situated, blending in with the other single-story buildings in the area and the sea nearby. This place invites you to step into a different world. A world where two pine trees bring balance to the garden, and a corridor encloses the garden presenting only the sky, tree, and land allowing concentration on nature. The reason for the unconventional shape of the building and the two pine trees holding balance in the garden has to do with the trees that have stood here for decades and the architect's intent to focus on nature.

Busan Gijang New Ocean View Cafe
my garden
My Garden is a cafe in Gijang. When traveling to Busan, Gijang is an area I often visit these days, and it is famous for its many different ocean view cafes. My Garden is a cafe that has been open for a little over a month, and I got the impression that it is a good cafe to look out to the sea. It is quite large, but the minimalist exterior is connected to the interior atmosphere, and the beige tone and wood meet to create a clean, warm, and timeless color of the space.
⠀
The interior is operated on the 1st and 2nd floors and a rooftop, but please note that the 2nd floor and rooftop are No Kids Zone. Apparently, the second floor has a better view than the first, and My Garden was a space with a calm atmosphere unlike other ocean view cafes. I think it will be loved by a wide range of age groups by showing off the glamor and adding comfort. Among the many ocean view cafes in Gijang, My Garden seems to be a good option.

The music of My Garden is colored with calm jazz performances. A calming space can also choose the weight of different music. This is because if you choose easy listening jazz, you can emphasize a slightly lighter and more comfortable feeling, and if you choose vintage jazz, you can give a slightly heavier and classic feel. I think it's pretty good that My Garden chose Easy Listening Jazz.

Sirangirang is a new cafe in Gijang, Busan. In seasons like these days, people tend to look for large cafes and cafes with a nice view. Gongguk Sand Coffee, located in the air port, which is guarded by a lighthouse and haenyeo near Koralani, does not have a larger space than other large cafes, but it offers a different view. conveying the happiness of Various photo zones, outdoor terrace seats, and the exterior with a burgundy color as the main can be seen at a glance.

The interior is operated on the 2nd to 4th floors and the rooftop 5th floor, but please note that only the 5th floor is a no-kids zone. There are quite a few seats where you can enjoy the view, and the fact that there is an elevator was convenient. The staff were very friendly, and it is currently temporarily open, so you can only order drinks, and thank you for taking care of heart-shaped millet seaweed as a gift. Ocean view cafes also have different personalities for each cafe, but there is no doubt that Shirangrang is a unique ocean view cafe you can meet in Gijang.
