One of my fondest memories of Kyoto was the morning I hiked through the thousands of torii shrine gates that wind their way up Mount Inari.

In Japan, Inari is the god of rice, sake, prosperity and the patron of business. Each gate has been donated, and inscribed on the back is the name of the donor who hopes to receive good luck & fortune for their charity.
