One of the best Israeli-infused Persian restaurants in NYC. Conveniently located on Hudson St in the West Village, the food is so incredibly delicious and that’s all thanks to Chef Einat Admony, who began with the extremely popular fast-casual falafel spot Taïm, and has become a world-renowned chef of Israeli and Middle-Eastern cuisine. She is an author of a few popular cookbooks such as “Shuk” (Israeli home cooking) and “Balaboosta” (bold Mediterranean cooking). When I tell you this lamb fell off the bone…it was so tasty, full of flavor, fat and soaked in its own juices. The Persian rice or Tahdig was packed full of saffron and barberries, so delicious with the pistachios crumbled on top. The mushrooms and octopus appetizer were the perfect light and textured start to the main courses. And definitely order all 3 desserts on the menu! If you have to pick just one… get the Tahini Crème Brûlée. My friends were raving about that crème brûlée all night! Whatever you order, you will not be disappointed. Come to Balaboosta and be transported to Israel 🇮🇱
