Jung-gu, Seoul • Restaurant
Eulji-ro, a city that retains Seoul's past, is listed in Curation No. 1, but there are still many buildings that are over 100 years old without realizing it. At the same time, they are really old spaces that are still in business. Among them, the old space owner said goodbye to the space, and the remaining spaces share their lives with another owner as they do now. This is the Euljiro branch of Cafe Allmost Home. The second floor is full of afterimages of residential spaces in Seoul from the past. A unique experience to enjoy modern programs in a space of the past. That is the charm of this place. - A space that will not disappear in the future? - Many cafes have been created and disappeared since 2014. In Seoul, Busan, Daegu and Daejeon, cafes with various appearances have emerged, and in 20 years, absurdly great spaces have been created through the program called cafes. - In the meantime, the coffee industry may have increased the size of the market, but the public's view of the space has increased significantly in 20 compared to 2014. Now, people who say they've been to a few cafes can tell how much preparation they've made just by taking the first step, placing an order and receiving coffee. - Now, spaces that seem to disappear no longer appear often. - It is a space made by renovating an old factory in Euljiro into a cafe, but now it is implemented with a clear meaning of what needs to be left and what needs to be fixed. There are a lot of spaces where the context of regeneration is architecturally well resolved by applying a reinforcement structure instead of using a wooden structure as decoration. - In the midst of this trend, #EuljiDarak has kept the forgotten clothes and culture of the old factory partly and partly with the space. It is so kind that it explains in what context it was intended to revive this space. Also, the signature menu called #Daldali Coffee is very similar to that of Dabang Coffee, so that coffee can also match the land of Euljiro. And at the same time, they serve dalgona together. - How do we interpret the past in the present? - What to keep and what to throw away? - Actually, it's a very difficult option. - But, like the coolness you feel while drinking coffee in a coffee shop with plenty of ice on a hot summer day, this place has opened up the space wisely and clearly. - The first floor is a coffee shop [All Most Home], and the second floor is a showroom containing the story of Kolon Sports. - On the way, I recommend this space in the attic of Eulji to take a glimpse of what our grandmothers, grandfathers, mothers and fathers were like. - As always, the menu is attached. 🙏🏻
