The truce line of life: the end of May
-
Taepyeong-ri, Yeoju, is said to have been a village where scholars who had been on the road in the past took a break from the arduous first steps and studies. The village was named 'Taepyeong-ri' because it is said that this place to rest is peaceful and peaceful. A space located on the highest hill in Taepyeong-ri. It is surrounded by mountains in the back and the view of the village from the front is beautiful. Surrounded by mountains, this place is very quiet and secluded. At the very least, you can hear the rattling of dishes outside.
-
I don't know why I found it as if I was possessed by this land. It's a long journey from home, taking about 3 hours one way, but I wanted to go there for some reason. The first half was very busy. I didn't even know it was May, but it was already over. All the books are lectures. Wasn't it a month in which you spent your days fiercely on the front line of your life? Looking back, he seemed very tired. Wouldn't it be a rest that we instinctively seek in the guidelines?
-
'M'aider' who was shouting at the front of life. Did he unconsciously recognize the name, like in a war movie, shouting 'mayday' for help? This is what I learned when I arrived at this space, but I think about it by comparing it to my situation.
-
Today's space is a place where the context of the land is well understood. In order not to disturb the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of this place, I try to capture the horizontal impression as much as possible. Rather than trying to raise the space vertically by stacking it layer by layer, the building sits down so that one side is long and visually felt, so that a static and quiet sentiment can be felt. If there is something special, there is a place to take orders and a separate room for brunch and drinks. A space that resembles twins. It seems that they are not facing each other straight, only their heads are facing each other at an angle. When you enter the building where you usually order and order drinks and desserts, you can clearly see the scene this space was trying to show. The space, which was obliquely attached to the head, spreads out from the end to capture the beautiful mountain scenery of Taepyeong-ri and the scenery of the village in a wide range. The long lines connecting the eaves of the twin buildings naturally focus on the scene to be shown.
-
The interior space tries to accept the properties of this land as well as possible. The gable roof is raised to provide a cool feeling of openness through the high floor height. Then, it is surrounded by a glass wall so that the mountain view can be fully captured at human eye level. The view of the mountain seen from each window is different. You can see the courtyard and sometimes overlook the village. Those who stand in the yard and look down on the village are enjoying the scene the space is trying to show.
-
Having spent several hours in this quiet land at the same time, I now understand why I came here. On the last day of May, it is a signal of rescue instinctively shouted from the front line in life. From the past, they pursued the 'rest' that this village provided to people. Perhaps this space was not the truce line of my life?
-
This is #Mayday in Yeoju, the truce line of life that I met on the front line of life on the last day of May.
