Chapter 1 of 《The Usefulness of Use》 presented by 8 writers and designers

-Exhibition Introduction -
The eight artists and designers presented in Chapter 1 of 'Useful for Use' share the fact that they work with everyday items that have a specific purpose as a medium. They use the process of giving use to a work as the main narrative that builds it, while defining the meaning of use in a variety of ways. Various aspects are unfolding in the exhibition hall, such as reversing the purpose of using a painting hanging on the wall as the top of the desk, or resetting the standard of use by using materials far from convenient as the formative language of the work. In this process, we tried to visualize the relationship between beauty and use by exhibiting in a curatorial method of placing chairs on an exhibition stand or hanging tables in the form of installations.

The process of naming their creations as works and bringing them to the exhibition is an attempt to create a discourse about the relationship between use and beauty to be defined in art. In the process of being formed, we want to convey the various aspects of 'practicable works', paying attention to the relationship between the artist's concept of work and the use they gave to their work.
