Kung Lee Sugar Cane Drink
Central and Western District, Hong Kong Island • Restaurant
A traditional herbal tea shop in Soho. The store name, Kung Lee, is an abbreviation of '水蔗竹料真利公', and in Hong Kong, it is common to read Chinese characters from right to left. Since opening its doors in 1950, Kung Lee has been run by four generations, offering freshly squeezed sugarcane juice and turtle jelly, which contains Chinese herbs, as its signature dishes. In particular, the turtle jelly, made by setting 20 different Chinese herbs in a turtle shell, served as a relief item protecting the health of Hongkongers during the hot summer months. A cup of turtle jelly and sugarcane juice can simultaneously quench your thirst and replenish your energy on a tiring journey. What's more, the prices are affordable. Located on Hollywood Wall Street in the Soho area, it's also easy to find.
