Market Place
Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon • Shop
Since opening its first store in Singapore in 1975, Market Place by Jason has grown in popularity, almost making its way into all major shopping malls in Hong Kong. Despite being slightly more expensive than Welcome Mart, it always attracts customers looking to purchase quality groceries in a pleasant environment. It is particularly popular among the younger crowd because it offers a wide variety of alcohols, including wine, and sells neatly packaged sliced fruits, sushi, and fresh fruit juices. As for fresh produce, significant discounts are offered in the evening, making it extremely crowded, basically turning it into a 'magic hour' where it's hard to find a place to stand. When getting tired of Cantonese cuisine, one might consider picking up some simple eats at Market Place to enjoy in a hotel room or a park outside.
