The master of French contemporary art, Daniel Buren Solo Exhibition <Daniel Buren>

This is the first solo exhibition of a French plastic artist, Daniel Buren, to be held at the Daegu Art Museum for the first time in a national or public art museum in Korea.

This exhibition by the artist, who pays attention to the specific relationship between the work and space, consists of three spaces, and is the first large-scale installation in Asia, where modules of geometric shapes such as tetrahedron, cube, and cylinder up to 6m high are symmetrically arranged. ‘Like a Play’ and a 6-hour and 30-minute documentary film directed and produced by Viren himself, ‘Beyond Time, At the End of Your Eyes’, and finally, a pure material composed of materials that illuminate, enlarge, or fragment things like mirrors or plexiglass. Cafe Catalog, located directly across the street from the exhibition hall of Space Catalog, introduced a new visual dessert bingsu using the metal tray in the shape of stairs made by OTC after the exhibition of the furniture design studio OTC ended on July 23. The bingsu consists of milk ice sprinkled with raspberry puree, topped with dragon fruit cubes, alongside vanilla ice cream, half a dragon fruit, and condensed milk, offering an unparalleled visual dessert experience. The combination of ingredients such as dragon fruit and ice cream was excellent, and it tasted as good as it looked.✨ Although the exhibition has ended, you can still see OTC's lighting and tray at Cafe Catalog. The National Folk Museum of Korea in Paju presents 'Casually Half-Half', the first exhibition in the open storage for the 'opening and utilization of collections', connecting tradition and the modern era with 13 craft artists.
Traditional soban (small tables) and bandaji (storage chests) that have been part of life, embodying the 'usage' in daily life while also aiming to capture the artisan's delicate craftsmanship and upright heart.
This exhibition is a meaningful place where long-standing traditions in the storage and modern works come together, in the open storage filled with about 200 traditional soban and bandaji, surpassing the meaning of 'succession' to connect the origin of tradition, offering a chance to see 49 pieces reflecting each artist's unique modern interpretation of tradition.

2022 New Artists Exhibition Support Program Hyeonjeong Moon Special Exhibition 《Hotel, Dystopia》

The bunker is believed to have been built during the military regime in the 1970s.
It was discovered during a field investigation for the construction of the Yeouido Transit Center in 2005.
After remodeling, the Seoul Museum of Art
It was opened as an art space 'SeMA Bunker'.

The inside of the bunker contains current photos, videos, installations, etc.
It is possible to operate modern art exhibitions and various programs.
preserving the identity of the exhibition space and the SeMA bunker;
It is a history gallery that reinterprets and consists of two spaces.

This is the third exhibition selected by the Seoul Museum of Art 2022 New Artists Exhibition Support Program.
Assuming 'dystopia' as a representative thesis that penetrates the contemporary era,

17th Songeun Art Awards Grand Prize Winner, Kim Young-eun's Grand Prize Solo Exhibition 《Frame of Sound》

It is the first solo exhibition of a domestic artist to be presented at the new office building 'Song-eun', which opened in September 2021, and the solo exhibition 'Frame of Sound' by Kim Young-eun, which is held as part of the benefits of winning the 17th Songeun Art Grand Prize. The artist has been developing video and sound installation works, paying attention to the auditory experience as a basic sense and the relationship with the surroundings. This exhibition captures the point where elements of Western music, such as international standard pitch A, listening training, and staff, and anthropological attempts at ethnographic audio recording meet Korean music. Starting with the question of whether the auditory sense has been formed, it sheds light on the modernization process in which the traditional musical ear of Koreans is converted to the Western musical ear. Presenting six new works that combine sound and video, it provides an opportunity to examine the construction process of the 'frame' that composes music.
