J prepares a lot when it comes to traveling with his beloved Ps. I tried to imitate J's thorough plan. A 2-night, 3-day Seoul travelogue based on extreme efficiency. I planned it to the extent that it would allow human limitations. So that you can experience the most in the shortest amount of time. So, I recommend that you do not blindly follow it and remove or change the space as needed. I selected the area with the highest interest among the Seoul area, and if you want to change this plan to a low-cost plan, you can just change the accommodation, and I will start curating it.

J's Seoul - Day 1 - 11am - Arrive at Seoul Station and check-in

It starts with the assumption that you have traveled from another region. If you are a Seoul citizen, you can leave your luggage at the hotel and start right away. Arrival at Seoul Station 11 am - Taxi stop in front of Seoul Station - Take a taxi to the Mondrian Hotel in about 15 minutes Check-in time is 3pm, so you can leave your luggage and enjoy a nice meal in Itaewon or Haebangchon.

The highlight of the week was definitely the clouds. I was reminded of what it means to be able to look at the wonderful sky. In this regard, there are many good places to see the sky of Seoul, but if I had to recommend it to someone, I would definitely recommend the Privilege Bar of the Mondrian Hotel.

The sense that the charm of each indoor and outdoor space gives a different feeling for each time period is also outstanding, but the thing that touches my heart the most is the consideration for those who cannot drink alcohol.

A variety of cocktails and alcoholic beverages are also available, but non-alcoholic beverages and products are also available, so anyone can join them without any hesitation. It is a very grateful point these days when it is increasingly difficult to eat without ordering alcohol.

It is also special that the road to and from Privilege Bar is full of attractions. Not only the escalators leading to the hotel lobby and the underground arcade, but also the elevators attract attention. In this respect, new attempts to be made in the future are more expected.

J's Seoul - Day 1 - 12:00 PM - Lunch

A 20-minute walk from the Mondrian Itaewon Hotel If it's a hot day, you can take a taxi from the hotel drop-off and go. It takes 7 minutes by taxi. It's a restaurant that opens at 12:00, so it's best to leave the hotel around 11:40. This is a great place to have a nice meal with wine. A well-designed space also contributes to enhancing the taste of the meal.

Special results created naturally

The human heart is very difficult. I want it to be new while retaining the familiar feeling, I want it to be natural and special, and I want the result to blend in with the surrounding environment without being buried. There is no space in the world that can provide perfect satisfaction, but if you look into the natural high, an Australian natural wine bar located in Itaewon, you can see the direction it is trying to satisfy all these needs.

The steel, stone, and wood that make up this space are all the same shapes and colors that we have seen countless times. The combination of extremely familiar materials created a space that was never easily seen around us. Moreover, the combination of straight straight lines without any bizarre elements to make the space stand out makes it feel special. The most surprising thing is that although there is no message of trying to capture Australia in this space, it reminds us of the hometown of the wines that Natural High handles. Because it is a space with such subtle elements, it is said that in fact, there were frequent coronation photos by architectural photographers.

Since it was originally only open for dinner, I remember when I first visited last summer, I was fascinated by the atmosphere created by the very low-illumination lighting, but it was practically impossible to capture the atmosphere as it is, so I have a regretful memory. Thankfully, it has been open for lunch since last December, making it easier to take pictures of the charm of this place. At the same time, you can enjoy the unique menu of this place with a relatively low burden. The owner was saddened by the lack of opportunities to see what this space creates in the dark, but he's delighted to be able to enjoy the many different aspects of this amazing space as a guest.

The character of the space here is reflected in the menu as well. It seems familiar yet new. New menu items are also added periodically, so there are elements to look forward to the next visit. As I was choosing photos to upload, I couldn't find any photos I wanted to throw away, so the Instagram upload limit of 10 was so wild. If you like space, we recommend that you visit this place at least twice for lunch and dinner.

J's Seoul - Day 1 - 1pm - Coffee Time

Natural High ๏นฅ Upstanding = 20 minutes on foot If you have eaten delicious food at Natural High, you can also enjoy an exotic street while walking up the hills of Haebangchon in order to digest the food. If you walk up about 20 minutes and arrive at 'Shinheung Market', there is an attractive coffee shop on the other side. Spend time chatting with those who have been with you here and trying to digest them. Since most of the guests who come are residents of Haebangchon, you can enjoy the space with people of various nationalities.

Liberation of small areas. - This is called Haebangchon because it is a village that was created after liberation. Although there is a separate official name for administrative districts, we still call this place Haebangchon. In the past, there was a Japanese shrine here, and refugees after the Korean War formed a village. It was also a typical shanty town, and photos from the past show how outdated it is. This Haebangchon has maintained its present form as houses were built in the 60s and 70s. Buildings that were built at random without a plan at the time filled the slopes and created a very complex urban organization. The formation process may be different, but in terms of the physical environment, it is a very complex and narrow residential complex that is no different from Gamcheon Culture Village in Busan. Here in Haebangchon, there are several symbolic spaces. Today is the story of one of them, 'Emerging Market'. - Shinheung Market was originally called 'Haebangchon Market' in 1983. It was also a place to make sweaters in the 60s and 70s. Since then, as time passed, artists from various regions in the Seoul area who could not withstand the gentrification came in, and they took on their unique appearance. - As mentioned earlier, Haebangchon is very complex and the alleys are narrow and steep. Most of the buildings have 3 or 4 floors, and the parking space is also very narrow. These sentences say that the physical density of urban organization is enormous. There is no space for newer entry, and the gap between the buildings is not wide, so it may be much more advantageous to demolish the whole and build a new one than to renew it. However, this place has its own charm. - Sophomore year in college, I would like to recite the results of a study conducted in this neighborhood with 10 colleagues for several months. Unlike other cities in other regions, this urban organization has a very diverse population of religions. Thanks to that, it is also a place where you can easily see food that you can't see easily. Also, due to the high physical density of the floor level, there are many different types of using the roof of the building to enjoy space. - These two sentences seem like little, but if you actually experience this city, you can have a very rich experience. There are many places that are not easily seen. You can often experience the appearance of a multi-country with diverse food cultures with various religions, and at the same time, there are many interesting examples of using vertical space to make good use of this narrow and complex place. One of them is today's space. - There is a way to push some and build a new one when there is no more space physically, but there is also a way to enrich the system of space and lower the psychological density rather than solve it through a physical one. The charm of this complex, narrow and difficult urban organization is the scenes created by vertically linking the spaces. Even on a narrow floor, it gives a rich experience. This can be a very effective method. Today's space occupies a narrow space around the perimeter of an emerging market. - The floor area is very narrow. However, about 1/4 of the floor area is being replaced with a beautiful staircase, probably to emphasize the vertical connection. The stairs are connected to the roof floor, and you can experience the space in all directions by going up the circular stairs. The scenes that you can see from the window into the space as you go up one by one are rich. It is a small space, but it is a way to provide a fruitful experience by focusing on vertical connection. Many of the visitors here are local residents. This is also a big attraction. This is because the residents of this urban organization have diverse cultures. If this space had been in another urban organization, you might have thought that it was too narrow and complicated and uncomfortable. - A space that stands tall with experience in a small area This is #upstanding coffee in the emerging market. - Location _ 99-11 Sinheung-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul - Business hours _ Daily 12:00-20:00 Mon-Sun - No parking - The menu is attached. - PS. This space is operating in accordance with the Corona virus quarantine guidelines in the metropolitan area. Please note that there is no inconvenience in using the space.

J's Seoul - Day 1 - 2pm - Visit Shinheung Market and Haebangchon

Upstanding coffee is in emerging markets. If you have chatted enough in upstanding, you can look around the spaces in emerging markets. There are small workshops and artists' spaces everywhere, and you can easily find small bookstores and hip cafes nearby.

When the light disappears in Haebangchon, another light appears. After this trip to Haebangchon, it was an opportunity to look back on me, who only liked tall and tall buildings, pretty and cute buildings, and buildings with unusual designs. In the rapidly developing 21st century society, I came to realize that the things that can be easily missed can be the little things around us, and I think it is time to find out whether they can be pretty and beautiful enough ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Lehman Muffin Seoul - Larry Pitman Solo Exhibition <Opaque, Translucent, Shiny> 3.15-5.7
-
The Lehman Muffin Museum of Art was founded in 1996 and is based in 'New York, Hong Kong, Seoul and London'. In Seoul, they moved to Anguk-dong in 2017, but now they have moved to the former Starbucks building in Hannam-dong. Even when it was a former Starbucks building, I looked very carefully at this place. It was a space known as a cafe, but what if it was changed to another space because the aesthetic appreciation of the building was good? It used to be a place that would give you the imagination. And that dream became a reality this year. It changed from a cafe to an art museum, and was remodeled to depict the necessary space conditions. A typical white cube space. This space, which is made up of a neat circulation system and just enough stories, is prepared to be easily accessed and enjoyed by anyone in the city through small-scale exhibitions rather than large-scale exhibitions. It tells an accurate story without being burdensome. The fact that admission is also free supports that context even more strongly.

J's Seoul - Day 1 - 4:30 pm - Enjoying Itaewon Hannam-dong Art Museum 2

Lehman Muffin Seoul > Foundry Seoul: About 2 minutes on foot Together with the Gucci house building. You can see Gucci, but it would be a pity to miss the exhibition. Somewhere like the base of the movie Batman, the white ceiling lights, white walls, and high ceilings create a very heterogeneous sense of space. As it is a 'white cube' type museum, like the standard of an art museum, the artworks stand out beautifully.

Foundry Seoul > Unjeong 96: 1-minute walk Traveling a long way in the morning, enjoying the hilly Haebangchon, swimming in the hotel, and enjoying the exhibitions will make you very tired. Then, you need to find your energy with a nice and beautiful dinner. Because nights in Itaewon are long. This is a reservation system restaurant located halfway between Hannam-dong and Itaewon. Unjeong 96 is a restaurant specializing in premium Korean beef and wild sea bream omakase that has been operated as a private restaurant by the Byeokje Galbi family and officially opened last year. You can enjoy grilled Korean beef and various other dishes that are grilled right in front of you while the wild sea bream pot rice is being made. Marbled salad with sweet and sour citron dressing, wild sea bream and abalone that are airlifted from Jeju every day and aged for more than 6 hours, Korean beef sushi and Korean beef persimmon fried sushi that melts in your mouth grilled in front of you, special Korean beef cuts and Bongpiyang pyeong-cold broth are the top 3 Japanese beef When the stomach is half full with three types of noodles served with Dongin Unaniwa noodles, a hearty meal is finally completed with wild sea bream pot rice, Jeju seafood soup, and Korean sea bream stew. There are many beautiful spaces here and there, but if I had to recommend one, I would recommend the Astier de Villatse Seoul flagship store, where you can enjoy a space that looks like it was moved to Paris with a variety of tableware, fabric products, and crafts.

In particular, the area around Itaewon Station is full of foreign shops, so it shows that characteristic. The sensibility gets a little darker at the sunset seen over it. It doesn't show the lively atmosphere as before, but even that seems to create a more foreign atmosphere. I also recommend!

๐Ÿ“ŒThe Chanel of the hotel industry: Luxury goods are luxury goods because they are luxury goods. ๐Ÿ”นRoom type: Premier Room/City View ๐Ÿ”นPrice: 4-50 million won ๐Ÿ”นLocation: Right in front of Gwanghwamun Station ๐Ÿ”นParking: Underground parking lot Looking at Chanel and not talking about the quality, looking at Apple and not judging the quality. This is because the quality has already been proven with the brand name alone. And when you experience it yourself, you will nod your head. Saying 'Yes, this is it'. The conditions for becoming a luxury brand are not what the brand promotes. When consumers call it luxury, it becomes a real luxury item. So, what is the standard for luxury? There will be various criteria such as price, quality, rarity, history, etc. The standard of luxury in my opinion is 'can you impress' - that is, whether or not a brand can impress customers with only the product/service it wants to sell, I think it can be very clearly divided into 'luxury' and 'can't'. . How about a hotel? There is a perception that 'a hotel is friendly', but 'a hotel impresses you.' Think of the hotels that made you think. Probably not that many. Because kindness and emotion are different. When we feel moved, it is when we feel that 'you are taking care of me'. This is only possible when private service is operated with sincerity, and when all the staff of the hotel have the same mindset. No matter how friendly the hotels are, it is not easy to feel private. The moment the title is changed from a pronoun to a proper noun, saying that it is '000' rather than 'customer', guests often feel a sense of privacy. The Four Seasons Hotel meets all the requirements. And it impresses. How they impress can be summarized in this one sentence- <Treat your opponents the way you want them to be treated> Only that one sentence moves Four Seasons. Whether it's service or design, they treat us in whatever way they can. Now all that's left is for us to treat the #Four Seasons Hotel. This is the place that comes to mind whenever you want to spend a different day.

Phoebe of location selection

Although it will gradually change in the future, cafes are still a kind of space sub-lease business. Therefore, until the infrastructure for an untact life is formed a little more, it will inevitably be affected by the laws of the real estate market.

Considering that the first factor that determines the value of real estate is location (location), Poby seems to be an expert in location selection. Gwanghwamun, Hapjeong, and DMZ (!), where Pobi is located, have many locations that cannot but be remembered physically and psychologically.

The Bright branch is located in the corner of the lobby of the Gwanghwamun Concordion Building, which has a lot of floating population. It's not huge or noisy, just a huge window with plenty of sunlight and it gets into the brain. The trees beyond the window illuminate the scenery of each season, reminding us of the passage of time.

It may be a sight to signal the start of a difficult day for the employees of the tenant companies, but if it is a sight like this, it is the welfare infrastructure of the area. If you use your own car, you can register for one hour of parking, so it seems to be a place worth visiting for those who work nearby.

J's Seoul - Day 2 - 2:30pm - Around Cheonggyejeon - D tower

Paper Mache > D Tower : 4 minutes on foot It is not the type of space that is easily encountered in Korea. It is a commercial space that impresses with the impression given by the huge ceiling from the moment you enter. The escalator goes up the commercial space that is piled up in steps. Even if you don't do anything here, it will be a good experience to look around and see the space. There is a felt coffee in the basement of this place.

Gwanghwamun D-Tower changed the paradigm of office arcades in Korea. The spaces from the basement to the 3rd and 4th floors are very organically connected, providing a special spatial experience. Perhaps the only large indoor content in this area.

There is no rule that says you have to see an exhibition I made in the fall. You can see autumn as you walk between the buildings. It would be even better if the cultural life was together. You will be able to enjoy the fall by making your own path with your own choices. - An art museum resembling a modern city - Various people flocked to the city. Cities have a great purpose: jobs, but there are many potential opportunities behind them. We are familiar with the concept of 'hourly wage' as a measure of 'how much value can be created in the same time' as anthropologists call it. If you apply this to a city, it becomes 'how many different experiences can you have in the same amount of time?' Modern people with their own tastes and really diverse values are now excessively concentrated in the city of Seoul. Because, as mentioned earlier, in cities, you can fully utilize the potential opportunities. They selectively use the experiences they want to have in their work as well as in their leisure, depending on their individuality. That's why cities don't work as someone planned. Because, more explicitly, no one can predict a human being perfectly. In this context, a variety of cultural spaces are emerging in cities to reflect their unpredictable personalities. Among them, we have the easiest access to and use of the cultural space of art museums. - Whether in the West or the East, historically, this museum has been a representative cultural space. In art museums before the 19th century, similar to the urban plans of the time, the exhibition rooms were arranged according to the exhibition circulation [the movement of people according to the order of the exhibition the moment they entered the museum], but after that, the exhibition movement was decontextualized. With the advent of contemporary art, which creates works of art right in the exhibition hall, there is a big change in the space of an art museum. If it is a representative Korean cultural space, it is the space introduced today. - Unlike the art museums of the past, where you have to move according to the order of the exhibition the moment you enter the art museum, today's art museum does not have a set flow path. It does not require any order from the visitors, only providing a 'transitional space' that connects the exhibition rooms so that the exhibition can be viewed selectively according to individual preferences. This type of art is what we call 'the archipelago type museum'. If there is a characteristic of such an archipelago-type museum, there is the concept of a 'white cube' room that can be easily seen in the exhibition space, but the most important thing is that it resembles the users of potential opportunities flocked to the modern city, that is, city residents with various personalities and tastes. is. As such, today's space is a favorite place for many people. Those who come to enjoy the cultural life at leisure, or for a short outing with children in the courtyard in front of the museum, or as one of the paths to enjoy while going back and forth between Bukchon, use the area of this museum. It shows scenes that are quite different from those of an art museum, which is composed of the strict order of the past and has a solemn and dignified appearance to clarify the spatial territoriality. As if this art museum is part of the city, it serves as a road, a park, and a cultural space at the same time. Also, we can fully read the gesture in the morphological composition of this museum. You can see the shape of the red brick building, which was the former National Army Security Command, and the Gyeonggeundang of Jongchinbu, who was in charge of the affairs of Joseon in the back, as it is, and carefully inserted without harming the scene. In order to realize such gestures and contents, the people who planned and executed the space had to put a lot of effort into it, but the effort is not wasted at all. Because many people enjoy this space with pleasure. - This space is 'to become a cradle of interesting and meaningful exhibitions and creative education for city citizens based on art history'. If you've seen people enjoying the place, you can understand why. - The value of this art museum, which deepens individual tastes through the enjoyment of new art, has great significance as a cultural space in the city, and there is no doubt that it is a space that inspires many artists. - This is an art museum resembling a modern city #National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul. - Location _ 30 Samcheong-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul [10-minute walk from Anguk Station Exit 1] - Opening hours _ Closed on Tues, Wed, Thu, Sun [10-18], Fri, Sat [10-21], Mon - Parking available - Corona For this reason, we are currently implementing 'watching with distance'.
