Ikseon-dong restaurant hitsujiya
A new lamb restaurant in Ikseon-dong that recreates Nakasu's food cart street in Japan.
The lamb specialty store 'Hitsujiya', which enjoys great popularity in Yeonnam-dong and Yongsan, has opened a new branch in Ikseon-dong.
It has been redesigned from a traditional Hanok into a Japanese Nakasu food cart street, offering a different space from other branches.
It sells a menu that feels like you are in Japan, including lamb that retains the traditional taste of Hokkaido, various side menus such as tantanmen and soup curry, and drinks like highball, beer, and melon soda.
CHEESE INDUSTRY
Cheese Industry Iksun is a grocery market cafe where you can enjoy the flavor of handmade cheese through a variety of menus, including various handmade cheeses and various cheese-based homemade cakes and breads, situated in a renovated Hanok (traditional Korean house). The space, designed with a ranch concept, allows you to feel as if you've come down to the countryside, complete with details such as cows eating fodder, the sound of a waterwheel, and the sound of cows mooing. It's a great place to visit for those who like cheese or those who need a break from the city.
Knows Changdeok
KNOWS, a brand that creates exciting synergies with various brands in spaces across Jongno, has started its fourth project. Although the focus temporarily shifted away from other areas to capture the essence of Jongno for a guidebook, the launch of a new space by KNOWS in Jongno, a place you cannot omit when talking about the area, was a compelling reason to visit. Following the beloved Jongno, Punggyeong, and Anguk locations, the latest is KNOWS Changdeok.
Brands participating in this Changdeok project include a coffee workshop and Su-eul-gwan, offering unique coffee and various brunches interpreted in Korean style. As soon as you enter the space, the retro songs playing from LP records make you truly feel the KNOWS atmosphere. Utilizing the characteristics of the space near Changdeok Palace, this location wonderfully incorporates tranquil and Korean elements throughout.
The coffee menu, especially the cold brew served in ceramic cups, was quite impressive. The signature dishes from KNOWS always feel unique and well-crafted, and the newly introduced Nurungji latte and sandwich were no exception, stunning in both visuals and taste. When the weather gets warmer, the thought of sitting outside facing Changdeok Palace and enjoying some leisure time seems delightful.
Being part of the beginning of a brand that continues to expand cool spaces in a beloved area is truly exciting. It suggests the brand has gained a lot of trust and recognition. I, too, look forward to the start of the fourth project with KNOWS.

Soha Salt Pond Ikseon-dong
So Ha Salt Field Concept Hanok Cafe in Ikseon-dong, So Ha Yeomjeon is a newly opened cafe in Ikseon-dong, where a place with a salt field concept has notably emerged among many stores in narrow alleys. With very clear branding, preferences are sure to be divided. The sight of a waterwheel turning in a Hanok, along with cozy and familiar objects like sack bags, catches the eye. It seems there will be points to be loved by various age groups, and it feels like a place bound to become an issue. Its charm also includes opening at 9 AM. The inside only operates with indoor seating, with the left side of the 'ㅅ' structure being the ordering area, and the middle and right sides are arranged with tables. The staff's response was friendly, and there were quite a few foreign customers. In Ikseon-dong, it's a place that can catch anyone's eyes, not just foreigners, and the salt bread is already gaining fame. A good impression was made by a single direction in branding, atmosphere, music, and menu. As for coffee, I ordered a Yumjeon Schupener, which added sweet and salty to an Einschupener, allowing for a unique menu experience. The name is very unique. So Ha Yeomjeon's music is mainly instrumental, and the harmony between space and music is good. There was curiosity about the music. Songs with lyrics seemed unlikely to match with any song, but the selection of instrumental songs does not interfere with the branding direction. The instrumental genre of music strong in BGM character was preferred.

Yankees Burger

Yankees Burger, located behind Ikseon-dong, may have a small shop, but the taste of its burgers is inversely proportional to the shop size. The harmony of the bun, patty, and sauce maximizes the flavor, making one think of beer. Expanding the store would be great, owner! 🍔🤤 Recommended: Original Bacon Burger 9.5, Munrae Burger 9.9.

Fargo Coffee at Donhwamun-ro, which runs nicely under Changdeokgung Palace. As soon as I entered, I was impressed with the passage that was like a small garden.
The design of dividing the space into three parts was unique. It was divided into an area for private conversation, a lounge area with a large sofa centering on it, and a desk area for easy study and work to satisfy the needs of customers. Unique plants located throughout the space add warmth to this. It was a space where the elements we need and enjoy today were concentrated.

Kkilook House
Bokjakdae is a little out of the way from Ikseon-dong, and if you walk like hide and seek, you will see a cafe called 'Kiruk House'. The name of this place seems to be welcomed by seagulls (?), and the first floor is full of delicious-looking bread, and on the second floor, you can see old houses in Ikseon-dong through a large window. Time flies when we eat freshly baked bread while sitting in a chair that is particularly familiar to us and talking about chaos. Order the five spread samplers, the signature menu of Kilook House, and spread it on bread. It's fun to pick and choose!

The dictionary meaning of exploration (探險) is 'human's original mind to search for an unknown world' and 'to take a risk to go to a certain place to examine and investigate'. Therefore, the expression of exploration has always been remembered as a form of travel to a place with a physical and psychological distance.
However, as long-distance travel has become difficult for a long time, our expedition has grown closer to the neighboring areas in Korea, and after reaching the space of home, we are leaving to explore within ourselves.
And we are realizing that we can embark on an expedition from where we stand or through a picture and a book in our hands.
Pyki serves as a resting place for such inner exploration on this road. A warm and friendly space, a cup of drink, and books (especially the titles of those books) are cheering the explorers gathered here.
The name of this space is derived from the English proverb 'Finders keepers', which means 'the person who found it is imjaji'. As the name of the space suggests, the people who visit this place are made with sincerity. It is the most cozy hut to comfort the hard work of the week.

This stay allows guests to indirectly experience the traditional Korean architecture, including wooden beams, tiled roofs, and single-story structure, offering a unique and immersive experience into Korean beauty and construction. The moment you step into Haetbitjae, the warm sunshine that gently embraces you provides a sense of comfort. 'Haetbi' refers to a fox's rain, a brief shower on a sunny day, and Haetbitjae is described as a warm and cozy space that even wraps the gentle rain in warm sunshine. The quiet courtyard and garden are perfect for enjoying a leisurely cup of tea in tranquility. Passing through the courtyard bathed in sunlight, inside Haetbitjae, a cozy space unfolds with a dining area to share warmth and stories, a main bedroom with a spacious dressing room, and a modern luxurious bathroom with a large bathtub, offering various leisure and entertainment options.
