Behind the Children's Grand Park, it is located on the border of the Children's Grand Park in Gwangjin-gu, another large forest in Seoul, taking in its lush views. There are tables with parasols on the rooftop. It's only 3 digits? It is impressive that it is placed sparsely for relaxation. Of course, it is also spectacular to see the forest fill up right behind you. The space is uniquely entered through a staircase going up, and you can experience being with the forest at the same time as you enter. The sound of trees, a cute puppy, and a comfortable and cozy space are always welcome. - The rustling of the trees - Summer space 3 - The sound of the trees rustling in the wind. A familiar sound, as comfortable as the sound of rain in a dark room on a rainy day. The sound of leaves hitting each other when the wind blows. The leaves move at unspecified intervals and in an unknown direction, collide with each other, and make a cool and refreshing sound. This is also a sound you can hear in the forest. On the other hand, if the space is surrounded by a forest, it is a sound you can comfortably listen to while sitting. - Two years ago, my nest was very close to Children's Grand Park. At that time, the geography of the place was not known as much as the natives. As someone who has a bit of a bad temper, I am old enough to walk around a wide radius when I move, but looking back now, I didn't know many places. Still, there is a park near my house, and I have counted the number of times I went there thinking I should have fun. Spring is spring, summer is summer A place I have visited once when the seasons change. But even then, after seeing the rugs, buildings and flowers at the entrance, he would soon cool down and return home. Two years later, the current nest is a completely different place, but if you want to hear the sound of trees blowing in the wind, the closest place is Children's Grand Park. I think there is something, so I try to search hard through SNS, which is the ego of modern civilization. - It is a curation that started to find and introduce summer spaces, but it is also what I love to do. Obsessively, I try to search for different industries with the same local name several times. It is a place I like that I found after a lot of hard work. I liked the white building behind the Children's Grand Park. Moreover, I liked it even more because it was in close contact with a short story of the Children's Grand Park that I had never been to. - But the part that I liked the most was the introduction of the cafe owner. 'The sound of a tree rustling in the wind'. This is the space I was looking for. It was the kind of space I was looking for in a neighborhood that had a roof top and looked quite secluded. move forward without hesitation. Rather than doing anything at home on the weekend, I did it because it was right for me to go out to get the experience I wanted today. - It's not too far away, and after eating the famous tteokbokki in Achasan Mountain, I walked slowly to the street and it came out right away. As you go deeper into the neighborhood, as you can see on the map, this neighborhood is still very quiet. Although there were many schools and kindergartens, the degree of wear of the alleys and the landscaping under the walls showed that it was a fairly quiet neighborhood. - A white building that we just arrived at, placed at the end of the town, was right in front of us with a park. What was even more enjoyable was the special staircase. On the drawing, of course, it was indoors, but in my experience, it was impossible to know whether it was indoors or outdoors. You can stop the rain, but you can't stop the wind. And some light can be blocked, some not. Furthermore, there are stairs going up the two sides of the building. If you go all the way up the stairs that feel like entering a cave, you will find the cafe. cozy And through the cool windows, dense trees in the park hang. You can even hear the movement through the window. I ordered a mango smoothie to soothe my spicy tongue in a cozy space. And, as always, I slowly examine the space I was curious about. If you go up in the same direction, you will find a rooftop with several tables. There you can hear the sound of the trees rustling in the wind. It was a cold rain and wind, but it is a sound that makes you feel very good if you think about the sound regardless of the weather. - Avoid the rain and wind and sit by the window in a cozy space and look inside. The art books and architecture books that are laid out, and what attracts as much interest are the cute dogs. His name is 'Kevin'. The desire to welcome, pet, and play with is like a chimney, but I just sit and watch from a distance to avoid dislike. If you like it, I will come to you. To an animal that cannot communicate, the only thing I can understand is his gestures, so I can't help but be a little passive. still satisfied The sound of the wind, the dog, and the books that I enjoyed were left as beautiful memories in this space. - I'll come back again in summer. Like the sound of a tree rustling in the wind, it's quiet and incomprehensible. - This is #Cafe Russul, a space with the sound of trees behind the Children's Grand Park. - Location _ 63 Jayang-ro 37-gil, Gwangjin-gu - Business hours _ 10-22 [closed on Mondays] - No parking - The menu is attached.

In an era of value consumption, the purchasing process nowadays involves scrutinizing the story and authenticity underpinning a brand's product and services, predicated on good quality. Whether elements that are important to me are incorporated into the purchase target, and if a series of codes align, then a bond and trust relationship is formed. For instance, there are people who lead in environmental conservation, those who prioritize vegetarianism, and consumers who seek comfortable and healthy materials. While there may not be a brand or space that satisfies everyone, there is potential for a space where like-minded individuals can share thoughts and propose ideas. A cafe branded with environmental and cultural sustainability in mind is located near the entrance of Konkuk University. Its name is 'Sustainability'.

📍Triggering Change

True to its brand name, it pursues 'sustainability'. It deals with menus thinking about the environment and the health of children, fashion and lifestyle products with minimal impact on the earth. It is for creating positive changes for the environment and continuing them.

📍Closer to the Body

What characteristics might things that can be used for a long time have? That the use of an item can last a long time implies that the product is of high quality or can make our bodies comfortable, allowing for repeated interaction. Products that reduce chemical stimuli and are closer to nature present us with a comfortable everyday life. Human beings, who originated from nature, can maintain their best condition in nature. Cafe Sustainability conveys the value of 'naturalness' through its products including organic cotton clothing and messages.

📍A Space to Comfortably Stay

Plush seating arrangements are made to assume comfortable postures. In today's world, where many spaces require sacrificing physical convenience for purely visual design, Sustainability provides an excellent alternative. The space exudes calmness with white & green tones and the floor material seems cleverly used with dense gravel for a witty texture.

After visiting Sustainability, what remains memorable is its serene atmosphere and comfort. One learns to care for themselves and the planet through vegan menus and a cup of coffee.

'People may not change, but spaces can' - Gwangjin Information Library

Sometimes, when experiencing a space, there is a sense of regret. Despite the good location and the building itself not being bad, providing potential for a great space, the poor interior showcases and haphazardly planned room configurations result in a loss of potential. This is commonly seen in public buildings, and is more apparent in older structures.

With a limited budget, priority is often given to maximizing effect, resulting in decorative elements being replaced with cheaper materials and construction methods to minimize labor costs. This prevents excessive maintenance costs and avoids criticism for unnecessary spending. Over time, mismatched programs are mixed into one space, and the purchase of equipment as needed results in an interior decoration lacking unity. Hence, the space could not come alive.

The 'Gwangjin Information Library' is a fairly large public building divided into a library section and a culture section, connected by a bridge. In front of the building flows the Han River, and above it passes the Seoul Metro Line 2. The building takes advantage of the marvelous view, opens large windows towards the scenery, and brings in ample light by angling the space. A spiral staircase centered around an elevator reduces the monotony with windows aligned to the movement flow.

However, due to various reasons mentioned earlier, the space's potential was buried, and it remained a space filled with regrets. Therefore, I did not even consider taking interior photos, and being no different from other libraries, I had no desire to revisit.

Recently, however, when I returned to the library to borrow or return books, the space, completely transformed, demanded my attention and compelled me to engage my camera.

The most notable change in the newly revamped space is the ceiling. By removing the uniformly finished ceiling and placing lights at regular intervals to highlight lines, not just horizontally but in a fan shape to fit the space's design, the space appears wider. The sightline naturally extends outdoors, allowing one to fully enjoy the charm of the place.

The 'Maker Space Workshop,' which was added over time and previously neglected in a corner, was moved to the center of the third floor of the library section through remodeling. The space is now divided by glass to block out noise without feeling claustrophobic, attracting people's attention to the unique appeal of the 'Gwangjin Information Library.'

With growing interest in public architecture and proactive engagement with spaces, there's a rising call for improved quality. Although many public buildings have attempted this change, few have shown good results. Fortunately, the Gwangjin Information Library seems to be a positive example.

However, since only the library section has been remodeled so far, the culture section has yet to discover its charm. Hopefully, the remaining spaces will also be transformed soon to be loved by the community.

Spaces, unlike people, can change if one is willing.

Pencil is a new cafe located near Gunja Station. It has been a while since I visited the area around Gunja Station after Bonanza Coffee. Today, on the fourth day of its soft opening, I visited Pencil, a space imbued with the weight and calmness of wood tones. The L-shaped bar table offers a sense of flexibility and friendliness. Sitting at the bar table and looking out the window offers a beautiful view. The spacious bar table seems useful for working or reading.

Inside, there are about 5-6 seats at the bar table and 2-3 more tables in the back. The owner's response was very kind. It's not easy to find a cafe with various filter coffees and a wood-toned space near Gunja Station. I think there will be many locals who welcome Pencil. Like checking off a menu with a pencil, I hope we all live more confidently, being able to easily erase mistakes in our lives.

📍 Beans

-Basic beans use the blend from Gongdeok Huelgo.
-For filter coffee, you can choose from three types of beans, including Namusairo and Riike Coffee.

📍Coffee / Dessert

I ordered a filter coffee with Costa Rican beans, and I encountered a coffee with a dominant pink hue. It reminded me of apricots. It was delicious. The fig toast provided for coming from afar was also very delicious.

🎶 Music

Pencil's music includes POP and classical. In the afternoon, POP is selected, and in the evening, classical. It seems inevitable that jazz comes to mind with the heaviness and simplicity conveyed by the wood tones dominating the space. It might be a good idea to select jazz for the afternoon hours.

📍 11:00~20:00 / Soft opening period until September 2.
📍 Closed on September 3

what is this special. It has a different feel than any other hotels I've been to. In fact, I found out about this place by chance even before it opened, and kept an eye on it.

I wanted to stay in the best room, but I couldn't find a seat. I decided to try it first, so I paid for the basic room. And I regretted it. come sooner

The hotel we are going to talk about today is on the way to Walkerhill.
It is a wooden hotel. I really fell in love with you here. Let's break it down one by one for what you fell in love with.

👉 Unforgettable check-in flow

strong I've checked in countless times over the past two years. But I've never seen anything like this. There is no big front door. As soon as the door opens, you can see the front desk, and there is no check-in process that looks like a mechanical print.

Turn around the building a bit and go inside. You might think it's uncomfortable. you know when you go that this is correct.

It feels like no one can enter except the guests. Feeling assured of privacy. And there is no room for boredom as you enter the building, which won the award for architecture, naturally. From now on, you will be happy

So I turned around to the side of the building and found the entrance. Now is the start. A small piece of paper hangs on the ceiling of the entrance. A soft ding sound swaying in the wind. It’s like a signal to get ready because you need to completely rest here after getting away from your daily routine.

open the door crazy good night. dark and calm The scent of cypress that enters the tip of your nose. 1st floor made of wood and stone. There is no lobby/lounge because quietness and privacy are important. You can feel it right away when you look at the picture.

It's even more surprising to see where you check in. The face of the staff cannot be seen. There is only the window for exchanging room keys and amenities.

Some might say this is some kind of motel. But I'm new to this. It fits strangely well in the context of the space as a whole. Anyway, attractive. Now let's go to the room.

👉A day when everything is paused.

When a space is too flashy, it is sometimes unfamiliar. But a wooden hotel? Wood, stone and light. Is it because there are a lot of natural elements? It is comfortable. soaks in quickly You can escape from the gray concrete you see every day. It feels like everything has stopped here.

I used to bang my laptop in the room every day, but I didn't want to do that here. It is also good to take a slow break while hitting Netflix on a cool-sized TV at a glance. Now is the time to pause.

👉The sound that spreads softly in the room

Oh, this was a bit surprising. In some hotels, when you enter the room, the TV turns on and music plays. However, it is usually about the BGM that is applied when the hotel promotional video is turned on. From somewhere in the hotel, a 'sound' that felt like a vast land came out. Just listening to it makes my heart feel as calm as a lake.

I can't see the speaker, what is it? And next to the bed is the first switch you see. What is it? Turn the switch. uh Oh my gosh. The volume increases. And I lift my head ah..! Speakers on the ceiling! Wow..!

The mood of this space that I felt while checking in. The experience continues inside the room. by hearing. These details were very impressive. I'll have to apply it later when I build my hotel.

👉Terrace and bathtub

The attractive point of this room. Not a large terrace. However, just by being there, the room space becomes more colorful. Especially when the sun is shining brightly. It was nice to just stare blankly while listening to the music streaming from the ceiling.

and bathtub. special. You don't go into the bathroom, you come out. The feeling of rocks under the bathtub. Next to it is wood. The experience of becoming 'calm' continues.

👉 Comfortable until the last minute on the way home

There are usually two buttons next to the eunuch door. MAKE UP ROOM and DO NOT DISTURB.
There's something else here. READY MY CAR. right. what you are thinking now

There is not enough parking space in this neighborhood. So it is a mechanical parking lot. You get down and stand there while waiting for the car to be pulled out. there is no such thing If you press that button, it is pre-exited. He takes care of me until the last moment when I go home.

In addition to this, there are many factors that were 'big'. I thought about the source of that 'Ku~'.
The large context of the space was clear. And it went all the way down to the subtle details below. It is also natural and not artificial.

I will try other room types here soon.
I just realized that today's post has become especially long.

For now, today's article ends here.

The world is wide and there are many places to experience.

Gifts for the Seoul Sanlins

Achasan is a very grateful mountain.

Although it has very high accessibility, low difficulty, and a short course, the hiking trail is beautiful and the scenery is very good. Without exaggeration, if the weather is nice, you can go up and down in sneakers + jeans on the way.

In addition, the hiking trail is all south facing, so you can see all the sights of the day from sunrise to sunset as they are. (Originally, it is very dangerous to watch the sunset from a mountain. A mountain of a certain size must be finished before the sun goes down unless you are ready to camp.) Access is good enough to climb the mountain.

The ultimate neighborhood mountain that satisfies both cost-effectiveness and cost-effectiveness. (However, it is a bit difficult to park, so it is recommended to do a prior research with everyone's parking app)

'Pin Coffee' in Guui-dong, Gwangjin-gu, with its neat iron exterior and the structure of an old house, is located inside an alley, making it even more peaceful.
The first floor is a counter and coffee bar, and the second floor is simple and stylish with a single table, simple seats, and a balcony on an achromatic background.

They brew coffee with Dunes coffee beans, and they serve Einspener type 'fin latte', filter coffee and non-coffee products and bake their own baked sweets.

“Coffee Art” Latte Art Champion, a place where you can taste the coffee of the national team🏆 This place stands out with its elaborate latte art and yellow accents that are hard to find anywhere else. Even if latte art is famous, I ordered a Tothiopian filter in the belief that any place with good coffee would be fine. Latte art is just an event, but it was actually a coffee art place☕️

Located at Gunja station in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, The Paper Lab is a comprehensive paper culture space opened by Samwon Specialty Paper in the basement of its headquarters. It showcases a variety of papers from around the world and serves not just as a point of sale but also provides printing, packaging production, consulting, exhibitions, and pop-up event services—truly bringing to life a world of paper. 'What if I were a designer? A creator?' At a time when paper has transcended its role as merely a medium for prints to become a direct tool for conveying the identity of a brand, The Paper Lab aims to become a rich and practical reference for creators. It has emerged as a unique paper-specialized cultural space in Korea that could be extremely welcome to designers, offering a closer look and experience with paper, an item most familiar in our daily lives. Here's hoping it grows steadily and extends beyond Seoul to become a precious place of learning for many more creators.

"Find Hidden Spaces"
-
When you walk in the neighborhood, sometimes you fall into a road you don't normally go. It's not often, but sometimes I try to get into a different alley and see the neighborhood unfamiliar. Then, as if I became a stranger here, as if I was a tourist, familiar things look a little different. If you are lucky there, you may find a prop shop that you didn't know about, a hip cafe, or a restaurant that only I know. So, in order to enjoy these little things, whenever I stop by not only the neighborhood I live in, but also the areas I frequent, I try to make a small change even if I go around a road I haven't been to.
-
'Motsu Coffee', which I will introduce this time, is a space I found while walking around the neighborhood in this way. On the way home, the place that we encountered on our way home was already attracting many people.
-
Singing sounds come from afar. The way the window is opened and the door is wide open to welcome passersby is like MBTI's E in human terms. From people who quickly sit down and chat while drinking coffee in a crowded space, people who sit at the bar table in thought and silence, people chatting with the staff, and on a nice day drinking coffee outside and enjoying the weekend afternoon to the fullest. to those who enjoy it. Even though it is a small space, there are so many different moments that you can see and experience there. Through the open door, the noise of the neighborhood and the laughter of children from the playground across the street become one with the music of the cafe, making the space richer.
-
No matter where you go, there are so many cafes. However, there are not many places where you can feel rich emotions in such a small and simple space. So, the hip cafes around the house that I discovered through the eyes of strangers make me more of a traveler from afar, adding vitality to my boring daily life.
-
Everyone has a daily path that they take every day, and that path is the most comfortable and the shortest path to the destination that has been proven by myself after a few attempts. There are countless forks between the road to school, the road to work, and the road to the park and cafe we often go to, but we might have passed a hidden gem in the middle of running because we only looked at our destination.
-
After walking a few times on a familiar road, the road becomes boring without anything new. So, I'm going down a path I haven't normally taken, and I try to look at the life that is repeated over and over as a little strange. This is because you can find a hidden space like this place and add a little different color to the boring street and life.

Hureut is a cafe located in Hwayang-dong, near Konkuk University. If you get off at Konkuk University Station and pass through the Food Alley, you can find a residential area full of one-room apartments, where Hureut is located. Rather than using various adjectives, it feels predominantly calm and warm. Recently, they expanded to the adjacent space, making more seats available than before. The furniture in wood tones sets the tempo of the space, and it seems to be attractive that, besides coffee, there are many types of teas and desserts to enjoy. The window seats with a view of the Saemaul Geumgo can accommodate about four people, and seem to be a nice spot for reading or working.

The interior now includes not only 3-4 tables from the original space but also sofa seats and bar tables in the extended area. The owner's service was very kind. I've noticed that when I visit cafes that are open on Mondays, I rarely see people with bright expressions early Monday morning. So, it's true that I become somewhat cautious before visiting. However, the Hureut owner greeted us kindly even before opening time, making my Monday morning pleasant. I truly thank you.

📍 Beans

-Currently using a blend with a nutty flavor and light acidity.

📍Coffee / Dessert

I ordered an Americano and Sangju dried persimmon cream cheese, and the Americano had such light acidity that I don't think it would divide opinions. The Sangju dried persimmon cream cheese, a menu with a day's worth of nuts and cream cheese added to Sangju dried persimmons, is said to be the most popular menu at Hureut. It would be good to try it at least once.

📍Music

Hureut's music is painted with jazz performances. The genre selection is excellent. It was the morning, so it might have been why, but you could see it filled with relatively bright jazz performances. It seems to be playing a YouTube playlist of easy listening jazz. Although I also prefer bright tunes for morning-afternoon music selections, given the space's tone is closer to calmness, it would be nice if the music tempo was a bit more subdued.

A pub near Gunja Station selling various kinds of alcohol is located behind the main street in a dark alley, brightly illuminating the gap like its name 'Moon Staying up at Night'. Although it wasn't traditional liquor for the 'Farmer's Day' on 11/11 to promote rice consumption, drinking it seemed to contribute to promoting rice consumption. The menu is based on Japanese-style fusion cuisine, with 'Today's Pasta' being one of the interesting choices, as many pubs incorporate wit into their menus. However, this place offers high-quality mentaiko pasta. Their sukiyaki is also very popular, with rich broth and plentiful beef brisket. Remarkably, they provide fresh egg yolks separately, likely to ensure freshness. The owner handles both cooking and service alone, which is impressive considering the wide variety of menu items. All the dishes we tried were successful, especially the combination of curry and fried eggplant, which goes well not only with beer but also with 'Bokdanji'. The alcohol list focuses on traditional spirits, especially selling mid-to-low-priced distilled spirits, making it casual to enjoy various spirits. Lastly, the owner gave us Pepero for Pepero Day, which was a thoughtful gesture.

It itself 🪟 Calm and atmospheric cafe with the scent of autumn. How could such a pretty space be hidden on the 2nd floor!! It was a nice cafe that was bigger and more comfortable than I expected. The space is composed of wood and fabric, and the calm and emotional atmosphere was very good to spend time. The chairs are comfortable, so if I had been nearby, I would have come here often. In addition, the space is quite large, so it was better because the tables were far apart. There are also spaces set up to take photos, so it's a very good place to take photos! When I searched for it, it was called a 'bakery' cafe itself. Compared to the bakery, the showcase was too empty, which was strange and a little disappointing. Still, there are a lot of reviews saying it tastes good, so it might be a good idea to order it? Besides coffee, there are various flavors of milk tea, which I personally liked very much. I went in a state full of caffeine, so I drank the sweet pumpkin milk tea, but it was moderately sweet and I liked it. 🧾Sweet Pumpkin Milk Tea 6.9 🕙Daily 12:00 - 22:00 📍2nd Floor 65, Neungdong-ro 13-gil, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul
